Ran from Montacute, after church and some sketching on the common, over Black hill down to montacute rd. Pretty easy and stopped many times to pick cherries from the orchards and native cherries from the bush. Left leg didnt like th down hill and knee/leg got quite stiff at the end. ITB? Need to stretch more.

to bed at 1am, up at 5am to drive to Gippsalnd to do recording with the band, then straight back to melbourne to fly to Adelaide, arrivivng home at midnight. aagh i havent had enough sleep for weeks and my lifestyle has been totally haphazard! but fun too :)

Nignt run with Jas after getting back from our end of uni celebratory trip to Lorne! Merri Creek, felt quite good once we got going.
Beach was wonderful- picnic dinner and bottles of red wine on arriving after dark, midnight swimming, sleeping under the stars and hours of girly chat in the Lorne teahouse :)

Ran with Jas from Brunswick down Merri ck to the Yarra, a loop over Kaynes bridge and Johnston st then back up the Creek. Merri Creek trail is a little wonderland...enjoyable distraction from study.
Felt ok, itbs a little tight and made knwws a bit achey towards the end. As usual felt sluggish for the first 30mins or so then got a bi of a second wind.

Glorious dam loop via fire track and a detour to high tops to breathe in the view. I LOVE my hills more than anywhere in the world :) Felt ok.

Monday nigth run from Bruce's. Felt bit tired as the run went on. Back a bit tight but legs feeling fine.

riding race (MTB) 3:45:00 [4]

Dirt works 50k in Wombat/Woodend forest, though it actually ended up being 58ks! I had SO much fun.. more fun than in any running race except maybe Mt Buffalo..
Started in the last of three waves, so the start was quite slow, though we didn't hit the single track for a while so it was ok. I very surprised and pleased to be really strong on the hills- pretty much every hill I would pass lots of slightly disgruntled fellas ;) I am a bit slow on the single track still and chickened out unnecessarily a few times though got better as time went on and didnt fall despite a few serious wobbles! So let a few guys pass on the single track but would always catch back on the fire roads. Good course with lots of short bits of single track, small vehicle tracks and fast roads. Rode pretty hard when I could and was pretty tired towards the end though was still riding hard, especially when a guy told me there was 1k to go and another guy said more like 3k, when really it was 10 because of the extra distance!
Pretty happy to end up 4th (open women) as I had no expactations of what it would be like in my first race.
Poor Jess came off at 10k and broke/dislocated her thumb and pulled out.

Early morning run to Jozy's for a lovely brecky in a cool cafe. Its amazing how far a little bit of pavement pounding can get you across the city if you run in a straight line!
