SM-Sprint Final
First things first, I had one of my worst sprint performances in a long time, and have huge respect for T. Heikkilä (and all the others).
So, I don´t want to sound like a bad looser but there are few things which still bother me or maybe I have two high standards:
- The start clock was anlog, stood about a meter above my head and almost directly on the right side next to me AND was off by two seconds compared to the beeping
- The map was in bucket on the ground, and because of the map flip it wasn´t really clear (neither written anywhere) which side will be up. Additionally, was the casing open on one side, so you were constantly moving the casing over the map.
- Control circle of 8. going over the thin part of the building, very not ideal
- This one is debatable but I am just not a big fan of artificial fences drawn as normal fences especially when they block a road completely randomly.
And I am not planning to run a sprint in Finland again simply because of normal emit punching. (In the forest: all good but not for sprints)
About my race, found a good route to 3. but got completely lost when I saw the artificial fence towards 3. which wasn´t even on my planned route. After that I had no flow whatsoever and constantly was behind my orienteering.
