Orienteering race 1:10:00 [4] 7.0 km (10:00 / km)

This was pretty exciting. Started too fast because I seemed to be in a pack so of course I fluffed up the first control. I decided at the start to just run to the furthest part and work my way back up to the finish which worked well.

It's a long time since I ran for this length of time at a constant speed so towards the end my orienteering tended to be a bit scrappy and at one control I came out of it so disorientated i really didn't know where i was for at least half a minute.

And I went to the challenges that i really knew i wouldn't be able to do (onion flinging and rope climbing) and wrenched both my shoulders :S I could have been a lot higher in the standings if I had completed these.

However I really enjoyed the social format, shame i'm a bit of a leper! But the beer at the end was worth it.

Morning run, not very exciting and felt rubbish on the tiny hill :( not quite up to peak fitness on Saturday. Lets hope we have a car before then!!
