Warm up plus cool down. A very short warm-up. Got distracted doing some work for my thesis in the arena, so it wasn’t until 30 mins prior to my start I started taping my ankle and changing clothes.

orienteering - Quality race 1:14:36 [4] 12.18 km (6:07 / km) +102m 5:53 / km

A race in Torsås. +8:52 to Lukas which is a bit further back than I should be. I don’t feel terrible about the race, but that’s probably because I mentally checked out 30 mins into the race. Consistently bleeding time due to poor route choices and also sloppy execution at times.

Technical terrain which requires constant map contact. The terrain would be really nice, just the left over scraps from logging littered the entire map. There were a few very nice small sections of untouched woods, but I can only recall running through them 2 or 3 times. Overall, just very mentally draining picking your way through the shit, and also not that enjoyable. Actually a quick middle distance could still be quite fun, but there’s a time limit of 25-30 mins of enjoyability.

Anyway, after punching 19 I took 5s to gather my focus together, check I had a plan to 20, and then execute one final leg well to make up for the rest of the course. From there I have it an honest physical effort to the finish.

Easy run. Will run intervals tomorrow if I wake up feeling good
