Don’t have a particular good excuse for that. Started in the mass start (25 mins after first team) well, chilled behind everyone to the first control. Did my own thing from there and was ahead of everyone to the 2nd and 3rd control, before preceding to make a 20+ min mistake.

Okay orienteering after that, but just not moving as fast as I would have liked. My hands and feet that had gone numb thanks to the hail, mentally that mistake had killed me a little, and head starting to go loopy so couldn’t read the map too well.

Found a hill. The usual 2-3 min acceleration thrown in at the end

Not my finest orienteering, and legs feeling a little heavy so not moving the fastest.

Mistakes to both 2 and 4 where I was going off the cut areas and they had changed, or at least I could not make sense of them. Drifted off my line on the way to 11, and also stopped at a couple controls when I could not find the taping.

The open hillside into and out of 15 was also a beautiful reminder of some Dundas Valley thorny forest.

Course spending a lot of time in the more scrappy parts of the map, so not physically as hard as intended. Drew 4 intervals on the map, so 3x 2:45-3:00 rest through out the course
