1 PM

Orienteering (Sprint Camp) 27:35 intensity: (1 @0) + (58 @1) + (7:47 @2) + (14:33 @3) + (4:16 @4) *** 3.0 km (9:11 / km) +33m 8:42 / km
ahr:168 max:183 15c shoes: Merrells

Session 1 - Training - Stanley Park South

Jogged the training which consisted of a thumb along & refold focus. #1-9 was a turny point to point, I took the corridor from 9-10 which was nice and really helped me pick out where I was accurately in otherwise "same" terrain, and then enjoyed the Line-O from 10-15.

3 PM

Warm U/D 10:00 [1]
shoes: Icebug Zeal Spikes

Warm Up with Jenn around the parking lot :D

4 PM

Orienteering (Sprint Camp) 22:09 [3] *** 330.0 km (4 / km) +45m 4 / km
ahr:184 max:194 19c shoes: Icebug Zeal Spikes

I forgot to stop my watch, this is a constant issue, if you see me after a race ask if I've stopped my watch. So no gps track or mixed hr data.

Session 2 - SI Race - Stanley Park South

Happy with 1-5. Pleased with 2-3 I went left.
5-6 I had a lot of hesitation should have read ahead on 4-5.
Happy with 6-12. Went left on 9-10.
Some hesitation 12-13 and again 14-15, and again 15-16, and then was too south on 17 and had to hook back over my R.
Happy with 18-F

Warm U/D 20:10 [1] 2.08 km (9:42 / km) +20m 9:15 / km
ahr:163 max:185 shoes: Icebug Zeal Spikes

Warm down with Tori & Tori and then joined by Jenn - Very nice :D

lol didn't intend to capture this but as my watch took me right to dinner I got it on the same silly recording as my race - blurg :P

Note

Note to everyone I know... after doing thr SC Program for many years

I struggle with the ubiquitous "explain the whole sport in the course notes" phenomena. I just can’t see the logic... and I created this to illustrate one of my frustrations :D

Person 1 “Orienteering = don't go out of bounds. Here are the OOB symbols”
Person 2 “I ran through a flower bed..”
Person 1 “Was it marked with an OOB symbol?”
Person 2 “Yes”
Person 1 “Then you did the sport wrong and you're dsq’d"

Orienteering in the snow (IT'S NOT ANY DIFFERENT)
Person 1 “In orienteering, you use relational spatial awareness to navigate”
Person 2 “On my course there was a building with flowers beds on either side of the entrance marked olive green”
Person 1”Great map reading as you know olive green is OOB”
Person 2 “Oh I ran through the flower beds....”
Person 1 “Again?!? Why?"
Person 2 "Because there was snow”
Person 1 “BUT YOUR MAP STILL SAYS IT'S OOB which you knew because you KNOW you ran through it… and where you were in relation to the building and what other prominent features were around"

Snowshoeing 1:23:02 [2] 4.61 km (18:01 / km) +248m 14:12 / km

Total Time.

Quick Mount Seymour snowshoe with Max who skinned along. As a result, the way back to the car turned into a snowshoe trail run for me :D It was beautiful and warm and just wow! It's been a long time since I've had so much fun just playing in the snow and bum-sliding down a slope. All smiles :D

My watch wasn't charged so it's all runkeeper data from my phone.

Horseback Riding 30:00 [2]

Braved Langley... by the time I went to leave the barn it looked like my car had been there at least overnight potentially for days.
