Running warm up/down 21:29 [2] 3.92 km (5:29 / km) +10m 5:25 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Warm up for Culbin Event, including some drills and active warm-up exercises.

Orienteering race 54:22 [4] 8.43 km (6:27 / km) +2m 6:26 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Culbin race, one of the best races of the year and a top quality bottle of whisky on offer for the winner of the brown. Unfortunately I was on the blue and didn't even win that.

Ran on 1:15000 - no problem at all, have no idea what all the fuss was about in 2008.

Running warm up/down 27:36 [1] 4.72 km (5:51 / km) +5m 5:49 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

cool down, did as much as I could to get in a few more km's, did my own cool down and then joined 'tesco value' Kris(p) and Pete for theirs.

Then an 8 1/2 hour drive back to Sheffield.

Running 11:18 [2] 2.2 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Warm up run from the car to the start.

Orienteering 42:45 [2] 5.39 km (7:56 / km) +5m 7:54 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Running around at the back of the pack at the middle training on Lossie and then collecting some of the controls.
3 PM

Orienteering 47:35 [1] 5.14 km (9:15 / km) +20m 9:04 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Hanging controls at Roseisle, there is something about this map that I just don't get on with, although apparently I am not the only one. Its a shame that its not mapped to the same standard as Culbin.

Also ran back through the controls I hung with the leading guys nice to be moving a bit faster than the crawl that I was hanging at.

Orienteering 46:38 [3] **** 7.79 km (5:59 / km) +10m 5:57 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Intro session on Carse. Ran with Kris and then Ali, pretty tough work!
12 PM

Running warm up/down 12:04 [1] 2.01 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Racer ST

Warm up for Sprintervals

Orienteering 30:01 [4] *** 6.09 km (4:56 / km)
shoes: Brooks Racer ST

Collecting the controls as last starter for each of the three sprintervals, running hard but getting a bit of recovery trying to untie/tangle each of the controls. Highlight was watching Douglas run in to dead end after dead end on the second.

Running 52:52 [3] 10.2 km (5:11 / km) +197m 4:44 / km
shoes: inov-8 oroc 330

Some running around a nice place in the Lakes, kept on losing the trails but managed to find my way. Saw lots of big holes and decided to investigate.

Running 30:39 [2] 5.59 km (5:29 / km) +159m 4:48 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

Bit quicker than yesterday, though mainly on the downhill probably a bit more awake due to later start time. Nice to be able to sleep in until 7!

Running 30:06 [2] 5.03 km (5:59 / km) +150m 5:12 / km
shoes: Nike Structure Triax 11

Morning run, down to Rivelin along and back. Starting to feel a bit less flat, maybe the altitude training from last week is starting to kick in?

Running Drills 20:00 [1] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8

Running skills and drills, normal warm-up and drills and a reduced circuit. Then had Baker take us through a session of Lydiardesque hill circuits. Great stuff!
