Note

The day before my training programme starts and I can certainly see that I have a long way to go. Slightly worried that I might have been a bit ambitious but only time will tell.

Long run 'with' J-Ro and Pete. I was dragging the chain a bit and told them not to bother waiting after half way.

Ran out to the Headstone, along the valley on the wait out, then back along the edge. Reminded me what a brilliant Sheffield run this is, a bit of everything, river, moor, edge and great scenery the whole way.

Early start today! Heading up to Edinburgh for the SOA Coaching Conference so ran down to the train station.

Note

So I have been doing quite a lot of reading about training principles and the only real way to learn is to put theories in to practice. So I am starting a 6 month programme to get in to shape and have picked out a few races along the way to help keep me motivated.

The programme 'should' get me in to shape for the Ian Hodgsons and FRAs in October. Along the way I am also looking to do: Kinder Trog June 13; Holme Moss July 18; Borrowdale August 7; and Nine Edges September 25. Also considering the Great Yorkshire Run September 5th but that is probably a bit close to when the baby is due.

Obviously an important part of this will also be logging my training, so I am back on Attackpoint!

Phase 1 is Base Training and officially starts on Monday with 12 weeks of building volume.

Also probably worth explaining that whilst I have not been logging I have been fairly active and in particular for the last 6 weeks or so have been running fairly regularly.
