Note
(sick)

After feeling flat running yesterday woke with a raging cold this morning, glad I didn't push things to hard yesterday.

Also got to speak to just about everyone from Sheffield on Skype yesterday who were over at Kim and Richard's for a bbq, really nice to see everyone but also pretty sad as we are missing everyone over there so much.

Running 1:35:23 intensity: (14 @0) + (32:45 @1) + (1:00:22 @2) + (2:02 @3) 17.03 km (5:36 / km) +406m 5:00 / km
ahr:150 max:167 shoes: Inov-8 f-lite 230 (lime/black)

Was planning to go longer today but feeling a bit flat so didn't push things. Exploring Urambi Hills and the single track along the Murrumbidgee. Brilliant running along the river and really nice around Urambi, just need to do a bit more exploring to find the tracks which keep on going as opposed to those which peter out.

Will have to invite all the cockies down for a long run some time soon...

Running 32:59 intensity: (16 @0) + (8:52 @1) + (23:51 @2) 7.01 km (4:42 / km) +57m 4:31 / km
ahr:148 max:163 shoes: Inov-8 f-lite 230 (lime/black)

HFW. First run in the rain for quite a long time and certainly first cold run in the rain since leaving Sheffield.

Trudged home then spent a flatpac-tastic evening putting together some 3-drawer bedside units. Have so far chalked up a TV unit, cot, pantry, bed, kids table and chairs set, wooden highchair and now the two bedsides since moving in to the new house.

ahr:149 max:164 shoes: NB M860 V2

HFW. Feeling quite good today after going long yesterday although have a bit of a sore gum/tooth thing going on which also caused a bit of a headache. Felt better after the run though.

Had a great day yesterday after the half, went to the Belco Markets and caught up with Erwin, Sarah and Maya and then Marty, Hayden and Connor. Jessica and Maya had a great time playing together and the twins provided great entertainment.

Running 2:16:42 intensity: (28 @0) + (37:05 @1) + (1:32:38 @2) + (4:15 @3) + (1:31 @4) + (45 @5) 27.0 km (5:04 / km) +372m 4:44 / km

Kelly was running the Canberra Half this morning so I got up early and ran out to the start. Urambi Hills - Coolemon Ridge then along the edge of Stromlo and on the bike path to the lake then through Yarralumla to Lennox Gardens.

Missed a couple of turns getting between Urambi and Coolemon, eventually resorting to my iPhone to get back on track when I had lost contact with any paths and then made a balls up of getting from Scrivener Dam to Dunrossil Drive but still made it to the start with plenty of time.

Good to get out for another long one.

ahr:151 max:164 shoes: NB MT10 OB

HFW via Mt Taylor, much more enjoyable route but not the best for after dark running so will probably only happen on Saturdays for the next few months.

Friday May 18, 2012 #

5 PM

Running 31:58 intensity: (16 @0) + (7:48 @1) + (23:03 @2) + (51 @3) 7.14 km (4:28 / km) +62m 4:17 / km
ahr:149 max:166 shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 233

HFW. Feeling a bit better than yesterday but stomach still not great. Team Candy not faring the best at the moment with Kelly a doubtful starter for the half marathon on Sunday. Jessica is rocking on though, in an exciting development after trialling different music in the morning it seems she likes the Arctic Monkeys almost as much as the Wiggles.

Thursday May 17, 2012 #

7 PM

Running 33:17 intensity: (29 @0) + (6:06 @1) + (22:57 @2) + (3:40 @3) + (5 @4) 7.43 km (4:29 / km) +13m 4:27 / km
ahr:153 max:175 shoes: inov-8 f-lite 195

Dropped Chris's car back for Kelly and then ran back home via the green corridors of Monash and Lake Tuggeranong. Stomach not great and feeling a bit flat, hopefully not the beginning of anything as only just getting over the last cold.

ahr:154 max:171 shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 233

HFW. Feeling much better today, amazing what a puff of ventolin will do.

Running 32:42 intensity: (31 @0) + (6:16 @1) + (24:22 @2) + (1:33 @3) 7.01 km (4:40 / km) +55m 4:29 / km
ahr:151 max:167 shoes: NB M860 V2

HFW. First time back to Kambah, pretty boring but since it is dark when I leave work any more interesting alternatives would require a decent head torch. Bit of a struggle, asthma still not great.

Saturday May 12, 2012 #

Running 30:17 intensity: (18 @0) + (14:31 @1) + (13:15 @2) + (2:13 @3) 4.93 km (6:09 / km) +185m 5:11 / km
ahr:145 max:172 shoes: NB MT10 OB

First run around Urambi Hill, after moving and illness was not feeling too crash hot. In fact worst asthma while running for years, preventable though. Bit of a short loop but have plans to make it longer. Good at least to get out again.

Still a bit jaded after Saturday nights efforts but fairly happy with how I am recovering. Left ankle which I sprained felt fine, left knee was probably the most worrisome but should be fine.

Took our toaster, kettle, food processor and vacuum over to the new house. Been left in a really good state by the previous owners, the oven is spotless. The big move is on Saturday but we will be busy until then doing bits and pieces.
