Running (dawdle) 1:10:00 [1] 12.0 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Oli quite accurately described this as probably the worst training run ever... But that was hardly the point had a great time jogging around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and exploring the galleries and sculptures. At one stage we were lucky to run for a minute without stopping but had a few continuous sections and probably manged around 70 minutes of actual running in 100ish minutes.

Mountain Biking (group ride) 1:30:00 [2] 30.0 km (3:00 / km)

Nice ride with Rob, Kim, Al and Nick. Borrowed Ricky's dual suspension bike which was a massive upgrade from last week on Craney's bike. Unfortunately it was perhaps a case of too much tecnology with the rear suspension failing and causing an early finish to the ride.

Orienteering (SYO Club Champs) 46:00 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (26:00 @4) *** 11.0 km (4:11 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Fun course around Walkley, some really technical and tricky bits around the uni and housing estates with dead end laneways and path networks. Enjoyed the first bit and ran a bit faster, then got to longer boring legs and started to lose a bit of interest and slow down a bit. Got thrashed but had fun.

Did beat Jenny and Helen though ;)

Orienteering warm up/down (collecting controls) 20:00 [1] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Bit of warm up and then collecting controls after the race, only one missing behind a block of flats but was only a cardboard square so no huge loss. All the SI units were still there.

Running (forge dams run) 46:00 [2] 9.0 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Made a detour to the post-office then up the bastard hill to Bingley Park, up to forge dams then up the hill for a nice view of the valley. Ran back right down to Endcliffe park and then home. Knees a bit sore from the downhill intervals yesterday so good that my main session tomorrow will be a ride.

Running warm up/down (Hallamshire) 20:00 [2] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Warm up jog and cool down including an extra jog with Kel.

Running intervals (Fartlek) 30:00 [4] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

fartlek with a large group from hallamshire. Was a pretty wide variety of abilities so it was tricky to keep everybody together, I was in the middle so worked all right for me but I suspect the faster runners were getting a bit too much recovery and perhaps the slower runners not enough. Nice gentle way to get back into doing some intervals.

Running (SCC) 30:00 [2] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Morning jog with Kel, had to do a couple of extra little loops to get it up to 30 mins, the circuit is slowly evolving though... Bit of a chill on the air this morning, although kelly dressed as if it was -10 so was doing a slow strip tease most of the way around - great motivation to get me out for more morning runs!

Running (Captain Craney Loop Plus) 1:20:00 [3] 14.0 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Ran with Dave and Kelly to the start of the orienteering and left Kelly there and then ran up Endcliffe valley to ringinglow and back down Limb Valley. Made a few detours along the way which bumped the time up a bit. Saw JennyJ, Magic and Rich at the orienteering.

Mountain Biking (ride) 2:18:20 [2] 40.0 km (3:28 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Rode on Craney's old bike with Rob out Rivelin past the dams and on to Hathersage. Came back past Dore and Limb Valley and back to Rob and Clare's.

Rob had my measure on the ride but then I took him out two games to one playing pool at the pub that arvo.

Running warm up/down (Don Valley Bowl) 20:00 [1] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Easy jog before and sloooow jog after tempo effort.

Running tempo (Don Valley Bowl) 10:00 [4] 4.0 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Ran hard up the hill then floated down. Did this after watching the girls running the road relays, they smashed it with Hallamshire 1st, 6th and 7th overall, guys were leading with Rob running on the 4th leg when we left. Went to Nonnas for coffee on the way home.

Running (Bingham Park) 40:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Felt crap but seemed to be moving okay despite this. Dead on the last hill running up through Binham Park.

Running (SSC Loop) 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

good to get back running although i was punished for having waited so long by getting regular starting running again itchy reaction, bit pissed though because it wasn't really my fault I was sick...

Note
(sick)

aaah bugger, picked up the bug that Bj and Leea had earlier in the week and just in time for the housewarming. No drinking for me tonight especially since I have to leave at 7am to drive BJ to the airport (Manchester)

Running (Angry Kelly Loop) 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Ran up Jamie's Bastard Hill, through Bingham Park and up Endcliffe Valley. Dropped Kelly and then ran back a different way (hence the name of the run). Turns out that Kelly had turned around early anyway so she wasn't even angry - what a wasted effort! Started with BJ, Craney and Kel finished with just me and Craney so we had some special time with just the two of us after BJ turned around and we dropped Kel.

Running (Craney Softcock Loop) 37:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Was going to do the softcock loop which is 30ish minutes and almost all flat but BJ and Craney decided to keep on running up the valley and then we climbed up Bingham Park and down Jamie's bastard hill to finish. Sandwiched this run in between two trips to the cinema and pizza for dinner.

Note

mmmm, lazy day today, better make sure I get out for a run tomorrow

Running (Captain Craney Loop) 1:02:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Up Jamie's Bastard Hill to Bingham Park then up the valley to Ringinglow and then for the first time back through Limb Valley. Craney showed us the loop and also running with BJ and Kel. Captain paid a visit after 50 minutes so Captain Craney loop it is.

Running (endcliffe valley run) 1:03:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR (red)

Run from our place up the valley towards the peak district, looped through ringinglow then back down the valley home. With BJ and Dave - very hungover and bad stomach, came out 80p up from the casino last night, not too bad since we were £30 down after 5 minutes. Found a blackjack table where the dealer didn't know what she was doing and quickly recouped the losses.
