Orienteering race (UK Cup) 1:09:12 [4] 11.3 km (6:07 / km) +250m 5:31 / km
shoes: inov8 x-talon 215

Very fast area and course, would have been a race I fancied my chances in if I was in shape. Didn't push as hard as I really should have, finding it hard to get motivated as I can't run as fast as I would like to. Took a fairly conservative and careful route to first control but was let down a bit by execution from my attackpoint and difficulty in interpreting the map near the control. Found that a few features seemed to be at funny angles compared to what I expected them to be and could have saved a couple of minutes at least if I had paused a couple of times to interpret the map better rather than running on blind direction.

Running warm up/down (UK Cup) 17:00 [2] 2.5 km (6:48 / km)
shoes: inov8 x-talon 215

Warm up for the race, no warm down - oops

Session down at the works with Oli on the new black circuit. Some nice problems, look forward to heading back to knock off the rest and to get started on the new green and pink spots too. Joined by JennyJ, Kim and Hils as well.

From Curbar Gap out along White Edge to the Grouse then back along Froggat edge and Curbar Edge to the car. Got back a bit early so did a little bit extra along Baslow edge to get up to an hour. Went to outside for some lunch and then took my parents to Eyam.

Bouldering (works) 2:00:00 [0]

Long time at the works without accomplishing almost anything. Failed on loads of problems I have managed before but least managed to finish off all the yellow and purple spots that I missed last week.

Bouldering (works) 2:00:00 [0]

Attempted to knock off the entire yellow and purple spots circuit, was looking good at about half way, having managed them all and Nails and Oli having failed one each, but then fell in a big hole and failed on about 3 or 4 problems as I got tired. Oh well should be able to clean those up pretty quickly next time.

Running (Snow Run) 1:00:00 [2] 8.0 km (7:30 / km) +250m 6:29 / km
shoes: inov8 x-talon 215

Morning run in the snow with KC who has the day off work today! Hard work especially up the first hill of the Johnson Hill loop (which was the only one we did).

Running (Night Run) 1:10:00 [2] 9.0 km (7:47 / km) +120m 7:17 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Harrier

Night time run with Rich from the Three Merry Lads out to near the headstone, along the conduit and then back past the dams to the back of the sportsman and back to the car. Heavy going in the deep snow, impressed with Rich's new headlight.

Gym (Goodwin) 1:00:00 [2] 2.0 km (30:00 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Harrier

Ran down to Goodwin through the snow and then a quick spin on the bike until RobB arrived. Did 3 x 8 leg press, bench press, single leg squat, upright row and squat along with a few core circuit exercises. Still a bit blocked up around my left hip and lower back, not causing any major problems but should get it sorted before it does. Ran back up the hill home.

Running (Snow Run) 40:00 [2] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +205m 8:38 / mi
shoes: Mizuno Wave Harrier

Headed down to Rivelin for some fun in the snow before it got dark. Kelly is stuck in traffic so I had to go by myself :( Saw some o shoe prints heading down towards rivelin from the stables on my way back, wonder who's they were? Lots of fun and deceptively tough running through around 10cm of snow most of the way!

Running (Bisham Run) 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km) +100m 4:48 / km

Was lucky to get out this weekend for any training considering how busy I was and due to the fact I forgot to pack my runners. Luckily I managed to borrow some trainers off BJ and found a free hour to head out for a run with Dave Rollins. We took one of the spare maps from the Bisham Bash and found a reasonable loop which took us past a couple of the controls. Some pretty swanky places around Bisham along the Thames.
