This was good fun. I was a bit more relaxed than I normally am at a mass start and so felt more on top of the navigation than usual. Didn't stop me tripping up more than is healthy. I'm such a clumsy idiot. Had one proper, full speed face plant on the way to #2. My headtorch came off in the process and it was slipping down my head for the rest of the race. One of these days, I'm really going to hurt myself.
I was on the same gaffle as Eleanor. She was running a bit faster than me and I pipped her on the nav a few times and so it was a good head-to-head.
My running was good, just faded a little for the last couple of controls.
Wasn't properly focused on the way to #159 and went to the wrong patch of veg. Realised quite quickly and didn't lose too much.
My bearing was a bit off on the way to #164 and without many features, no-one else anywhere near, I wasn't confident of my map contact. Lost about 90s.
A bit sloppy finding the right dead tree second time to #172.http://www.slow.routegadget.co.uk/rg2/#181&cou...
