Another nightmare so awake for 45ish at 3.
7 AM

Running 1:16:24 [2] 15.03 km (5:05 / km) +68m 4:58 / km
shoes: Brooks Ghost 13 Lavender

Easy along the bike path up to Point Arkwright and back.
Fairly hot and humid still.
A very nice section was in the shade of pretty trees between the layers of dunes.
Went super close to Mt Coolum too - very nice views of it!
Saw a man with a basket on each end of his bike and a dog in each basket!

Swimming 1:08:00 [3] 3.7 km (18:23 / km)

Swim the Island Mudjimba!!
Been looking forward to this for ages and will definitely be back next year!!

But actually didn’t have the best experience.
Entirely my fault for not training more in the wetsuit I’d borrowed and then being talked into wearing it at the last minute. Got very bad chafing from it on my neck which is very sore every time I move now, and also it restricted my funny shoulder from moving enough so swimming was actually very difficult and I was trying to use my legs a lot which doesn’t do anything except waste energy. And the surf at the start was very rough which would’ve been fine, except because of how floaty the wetsuit is, I couldn’t dive under the waves, so I was getting tossed about a lot and almost lost my goggles and was so close to giving up and just going back to shore within about 30s of starting. Plus it was waaay too hot in the water with the wetsuit on. So not really happy/satisfied but have learnt a lot, and next time there will be no wetsuit.
But in any case it was very cool to swim around an island and very fun trying something new. And to think I used to be very scared of the ocean haha ! Can’t wait until the next one.

Not sure if it was a real sleep.

Running 30:02 [3] 6.43 km (4:40 / km) +35m 4:33 / km
shoes: Brooks Ghost 13 Lavender

Steady tempo along the bike path past Mudjimba.
Slower start then steady until 6km then a couple of mins at the end cool down.
Tired but just held it steady and enjoyed the flat path and change of scenery.
Nice outfit always makes it better too :-)

Swimming 7:04 [2]

Teeny tiny wetsuit test in my tiny pool before the weekend.
Should've done a lot more but just haven't found time to fit it in.
Really floaty and warm!

Note
rhr:46 slept:7.9 (rest day)

No food at home so didn't have a proper lunch at school and then was too cold and late and tired when I got home to make myself go for a run.

Swimming 40:12 [2] 2.0 km (20:06 / km)

Easy. Nice in the sun.
R shoulder a bit weak/funny, will keep an eye on it. Probably just need to do some stretching to sort it out.
Felt a bit weak and tired all over.

Orienteering 57:52 [2] *** 6.47 km (8:57 / km) +205m 7:43 / km
15c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 230

Cotswold.
Fun, took mostly the same routes as 6yrs ago and remembered it all quite well so it was a bit like deja vu haha.
Took a veery wide route to #1 which was quite unnecessary as the green here was not actually that green, probably lost ~3mins. Another at least 3mins going to #5 where I stayed way too high and went through the dark green - just not thinking through process enough when leaving controls, but also couldn't tell where the track went to follow it then drop lower as was the original plan. Route to #11 was very safe but would've likely been faster going around in the open for at least the first part of the leg.
Basically process is v rusty and need better flow (which will come with process anyway).
Tummy a bit funny but I think that is just lack of running fitness and the heat. And shoulders/back tending to fall in a lot when I get tired, so need to do some work on that.
But a fun morning out.
