Middle at Noah’s Ark Ridge.
Fun area.
Back started to get painful during the warm up but didn’t have enough time to go back to the arena to get some panadol before starting. So a bit distracted by that.
Had trouble with #2, I’m not convinced that the circle was showing the right cliff, I would have it slightly further west so that it would definitely be on the bigger cliff. So I was looking for a control on the other set of cliffs which were in the middle of the circle. Probably close to 5mins.
Lost a little bit on #4 just not seeing it in the long grass.
Had trouble with #6 because I got half way through my plan then started second guessing myself and didn’t follow through with the rest of it. That gully was definitely not as obvious as the map indicated it would be. Probably about 5mins here too.
Caught the others going to #7 and was with them until the end. We were a bit off heading into #16, a bit too far north. Maybe 3mins here.
I took the lead of the group from #20-#24 which was fun.
Need to sort out/go over map folding particularly before any longer races. Fitness fine for a shorter race like this, more mentally tried than physically though that probably mostly comes from the lack of sleep over the past few days.
Glute sore from about 4 controls to the end. Don’t know if it was sore later throughout the day because I was on so much panadol for my back which would’ve covered any glute pain too.
Fun course, fun running with the others for a lot of it and fun to be out orienteering.
