Orienteering at Goolman.
Think it didn't feel as bad as I expected because I had prepared myself for a lot worse. Could definitely tell when I started fading after about 40mins and wasn't thinking as well as before. Not very smooth going to #1. Get confused on #7 because I was getting distracted and tired. And also at the end of #9 into the control and exiting towards #10, where I should've gone around the hill on the other side.
But overall fun day out.

Solo 5km tt up at the reservoir.
New PB!!
Went up there with a plan for the times I wanted to get for each lap and then just stayed positive and got it done.
Can definitely go harder but think this was more just getting through a mental block so stayed quite controlled. Felt quite strong and not completely smashed at the end so looking forward to doing another one.
Think it was good to do it at this time when I could have brekky and let it go down but not so late that I was tired from the day.
A bit windy but not on all sides and luckily not too much people dodging.

Speed sesh from this morning.
6 x 200m with walk back rec, 5min break, 1km tt.
Didn’t think many people would be there this morning with the weekend coming up so went back to sleep after my alarm and instead went out when it was nice and sunny and breakky had gone down.
Got some funny looks running to/from the res carrying my shoes but glad I brought them for the session.
First rep not fast enough so the recovery felt way too long, then made the rest a lot quicker. Feeling the lactic a bit on the last one esp. Could feel myself slowing down around half way through each rep so just trying to keep cadence up and lift knees.
TT way better than Tuesday, checked my watch twice and saw I was going well and still feeling good so it was a positive boost. About 20m longer than 1km.
Fastest km ever!!
Makes me know I can go heaps faster as I work on my mental block and forget what I’ve done before and focus on what could happen.

Intraining speed session.
4 sets 3 x 200m on/off with 2min standing rec. 5mins break before 1km tt.
Felt pretty good through the 200s and just kept them steady. Distance for 200s not super consistent so splits aren't very consistent either. But times for sets are okay.
Not happy with TT - about 200m in my stomach had had enough and felt very yuck. Also wasn't lifting legs enough and didn't do enough to get back up to speed after the turnaround (bc the gate was shut). Should've looked at watch too at the turnaround for a gauge. The wind also picked up for the last 200m and through the tt. And basically doing the whole session solo as only passing the others every now and then. I went to the earlier group this week but it seemed like everyone else went to the later group haha.
Comparing with when I last did this session back in April the tt was a lot faster, but the sets of 200s had longer recovery within and between them, so maybe thats why. And I probably could've recovered better before the tt this time by not re-doing my hair. And maybe I should cut down on the chocolate.
But a fun morning out all the same.
