OY8 at Daisy Hill
Fun running on the updated map and the forest was so nice to run through too! Mostly a good run, nav was pretty decent though got rather sloppy as I got tired towards the end, and running was about the same.
Not the fastest start and was being extra cautious to #1 because I had trouble there last time I was here. Exit out of #3 was a bit off and then took a really roundabout way to #5 on the left which was not a great choice. The next 3 I should've been pushing a lot harder for as they were relatively simple, though I think I was beginning to get tired by this point. Lost about a minute on #9 because I got caught in a big roll of barbed wire, and then was a bit frazzled and stuffed my entry into the control a bit. Went through some long grass taller than me on the way to #10, and then couldn't decide which way I wanted to go to #11. Ended up changing my mind half way and cutting across which I think was a good choice. Lost time on #12 because I wasn't good with my compass on exit out of #11 and then took a bad route which made me climb more than necessary. Got a bit confused by the creek on the way to #13 but double checked contours and corrected. Should've gone a bit lower through the gullies for #14 because it was super steep and slippery at the top, but I guess it saved me from having to cross each one. Slow to #15 because I was struggling to make sense of the map in that area. A little bit too wide on #16, checked an extra control on the way to #17 and then struggled up the hill to the finish. Should've made more of the good runnability but just wasn't pushing myself enough. I think lack of sleep from a few late nights this week wasn't helping though. I think total time loss is around 7:45mins - not great. Brain wasn't really working very well today.
I enjoyed this though, it was good fun and such a nice day to be out!

Rocks riverside parkrun - new pb yay!
Official time says 20:58 but not sure whether to trust that one so going by watch time.
Splits were a bit all over the place but made sure that the last one was fast.
Had a long talk about staying relaxed during my lesson this week so was trying to focus on that and listening to my breathing. Worked well at the end when everything was getting tight and strained and I was able to relax more and breathe better and then keep up a higher cadence which let me push more so yay. Got to keep this up more.
Nice morning to be out!

Struggled, its been a while. Breathing was not great and legs were a bit heavy, but tried to keep up cadence as I got tired. Left calf got really tight, so will need to loosen it up more.
