OY 7 at Wivenhoe.
Was having a bit of a grumpy morning from being tired because of my lack of sleep and stress from having to catch up on a kazillion of things for uni.
Whilst warming up, my knee was super painful so I changed down to H3 at the last minute and as soon as I'd started wished I'd gone to H5 or just not run at all. There was so many grass seeds and cobblers pegs out as well, it was just super unpleasant. Kind of just hated this until the last 1.5km or so. Wasn't really trying and just having a walk and trying to avoid the grass seeds unsuccessfully. Ran a couple of legs as compass training because it was so vague so I thought I may as well make the most of it but just had very little motivation the whole time. Half way through I figured that the more I ran the quicker it would be over so did that a bit. And quicker I got back, the sooner I could eat the pastries we bought on the way there...
Then in the last little bit, the grass thinned out and running was actually nice and I ran into Zazi and we had a quick chat and it wasn't so bad anymore.
Iced my knee more when I got home and will give it a day or two just in case but I think it will be fine.

Qld Middle Distance Champs at Spillway Common, Wivenhoe.
Fun course. Area was nicer than it looked but just as hilly as promised.
Was weird coming back to orienteering here, was messing with my brain a little. Run was a bit scrappy. #1 came up way sooner than I expected and from then on I had to remember how to orienteer over here. It was weird. Mucked up #6 a little - I was in the right spot as I had been really careful with compass going up and over the hill so that I would come out just above it which was all fine, but then I got there and didn't trust myself. Not gonna lie, wasn't super keen on going the whole way down to the rock and back up so went for a wander. Should've just copped it and not hesitated but anyway. Lost about 30 secs here. Mashed my knee on a rock at #11 which was super painful but will hopefully be okay for tomorrow. Iced it on the way home so hopefully won't swell or bruise too much tonight. My way to #13 was silly, I should've gone on the track and road more instead of straight, which would've saved me time and energy. Brain was switched off a bit by this point and went and checked a random termite mound a bit out of my way to #14 because I was not thinking at all by this point. Legs were feeling better than my brain was, though the ground was so hard to run on.
Nice though and always cool to run on new maps.
