Australian Relays at Mundoolun, running 3rd leg for the dream team.
Really good run, just having a great time out there on a really nice day.
In the mass start for remaining runners. A bit wide on #1, #3 and #4 trying foolishly to avoid climb but was fine relocating again on each. I took #5 cautiously as I knew I wasn't reading into the detail enough. #6 was possibly a little wide as well but as I had complete contact the entire time, I would've been running faster anyway. Going to #7 I was unsure as to whether or not i was allowed to run through the church but luckily went through anyway as it was a lot quicker I think. I drifted a little but it worked out well because I ended up just above the junction and then knew which way to go from there. A bit hesitant and cautious of #8 and a bit more drifting on #9 but the large rock caught me perfectly. Lost time on #10 checking a control in the creek for the fun of it
Fastest time and second place wooo!!

Easy shake out jog around the forest at Burleigh Heads with the crew. Photo stops along the way and we saw a whale at the lookout! Fun fun fun + felt so good to stretch the legs a bit

A really good start to the carnival!!
Happy with run, kept it nicely together which was good. Such a complex map and you couldn't zone out at all which was so fun and tricky.
Overshot #1 slightly as it came up so quick and was still getting into the map and over the confusion of how the start worked. #5 was good, I was trying to push whilst still reading the map and I could feel myself getting distracted but managed to maintain control which is good. Got a bit confused on #6 and then super confused going to #7 and had to stop for a little bit and just figure it out but then it was fine. I definitely should've planned ahead more going to and from #13, as I lost a fair bit of time in the last loop due to this.
4th place woo!!!

Orienteering 37:31 [3] *** 3.57 km (10:31 / km) +69m 9:35 / km
9c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 #3

Did the training at Mt Coot-tha that Brenton set a while ago but had never gotten around to.
Focused on contours. Went well except got super disorientated going to #8 and did a 180 and had run about 100m along the track before I saw something familiar and turned back. Otherwise all good. A nice reminder after the other weekend that I can in fact orienteer.
Not feeling particularly fast at the moment but hopefully this will go away before the weekend!
