Orienteering race (Qld Champs) 34:49 [5] 3.94 km (8:50 / km) +90m 7:56 / km

A nicer day today with no rain, but everything was still pretty slippery and muddy from yesterday.
Went pretty well with most controls.
Going to #1, I lost about 30 seconds running down a very muddy gully to a control that wasn't close to mine because I wasn't focusing at all.
Going to #3 I also lost about 30 seconds from running past the control without seeing it. Number #4 was pretty bad, spent some time running up the wrong gully and wondering why my compass wasn't showing north the right way before realising I was in the wrong gully. #6 was when I made my biggest error. I was further to the right of the track than I thought I was and ended up running to #7 then back to the right control.
#8 was hidden pretty well but there were quite a few people looking for it in the same area.
Overall a good race.

Really good run today! Managed to hit most of the controls straight on with no major mistakes, and even though the rain made everything super slippery I only managed to face-plant once.

Was going to do mainly terrain today but found out that part of the track had been closed for the construction of the new tunnel so I changed my route to do more hills.

Didn't do so well tonight, I forgot to go to one of the controls I had planned so my options were to go back or get another one but add a lot more distance. I went back and got it and in total lost about 2 or 3 minutes for that. I also couldn't see the chair that one of the controls in the park was on because of the darkness so spent about 3 mins looking for it.
Overall, an alright run, though I could've done better if I had chosen a better route with different controls.
