Leading until #22 and then bad route to #23 cost me 20s or so. Hesitation leaving #24 as well. Then additional unmapped building work confused me at #29 and #31, so a bit of time on each of those, and then a massive loss on #32 - confusing multi-level - first time I've seen the shark teeth used beneath a canopy; combining the two multi-level mapping approaches. Retrospectively I think it's mapped pretty well, but I didn't interpret it right at speed. Next to the striped grey, regular canopy grey looks darker and so I interpreted it as building grey. Annoying but fair.

With Joe in the fog and drizzle. Recce'd the first section of OCT, which was mostly as I remembered. Then went up Helm Crag a grassier way (faster, and would be much faster on descent) then OCT lines all the way to Scafell. Full waterproofs on near Angle Tarn.

Failed to find a good line off Scafell Pike, ending up cragfast. Needs one more recce. May have to accept the boulderfield.

Met Allen at Great Moss then ran down to Cockley. Had a look at the alternative ascent of the first part up from Cockley and that part looks like a goer.

Felt very tired in general; not in the legs but just lack of sleep after a hard week I think.
