Running - Trail (Groovy Kinder Love recce) 2:44:17 [3] 20.54 km (8:00 / km) +1003m 6:26 / km
ahr:122 max:151 shoes: Mudclaw 275 (blk)

Just the first half. Think I'm a bit tired from yesterday's double.

As per the race up to the cabin and then Mill Hill up the trod. Wasn't sure where to turn left - but would be in the race, since there'd be a CP. Fairly straight to Harry Hut. It's quite a way along the slabs; I thought I'd left it too late and went off piste, but it looks like has I gone just a little bit further there'd have been a nice trod. From HH, tried to do what I failed to do in the race and drop down the spur to the path. Failed again - but this time I know why - there is no path. Stupid OS. So looks like the correct route is to do what most did in the race - back SE for a bit to go around the reentrant, and then down the grouse butts.

Going back to just W of the shooting cabin seems like a good way up to Mill Hill. There is a trod a lot of the way, it's still uphill but slightly less soul destroying than the first line of butts with no trod.

Bit disappointing that I couldn't face the second half of the route. Feeling a bit dispirited in general.

Terry's High 5 route with Em. Lovely weather, really windy though!

Running - Trail (Chrome Hill (+extra loop)) 1:51:52 [3] 14.44 km (7:45 / km) +806m 6:03 / km
ahr:133 max:156 shoes: Hoka Mafete 2

Thought it would be fun to do the Chrome Hill race route, as missed the race last year as it clashed with another race.
N wanted a bit more distance so we did an extra loop almost the same length as the race. Some trespass.

Race route is lovely - defo worth doing. Some amazing views and inspiring landscapes. Some single tracks at the beginning though, so would be very worthwhile sprinting the first few hundred metres on the road.
