One of the more technical urbans I've done for a while on another very hot day as per.
Pleased right from the start to be planning routes that ended up on the right side of things with good APs. Going well until distracted coming it out 10 seeing people going somewhere questionable - didn't affect me at all other than psychologically but caused 30s confusion on 11. Lesson - ignore other people even if you think they're cheating!

Missed the corner cut out of 12 too because it was at the same time as I was overtaking someone...

At the time I was annoyed since I thought I'd got the 21 route choice wrong (good leg) but looking at it now I think my route is the best, probably wasted time worrying about it rather than doing it.lost a bit of time the leg after misreading a tunnel but nothing major.read the complicated multi level bit right.

Happy with all my choices really, a good run considering it was quite complex and I think a lot of others will have made mistakes.

Running - Road/Track race (Parkrun - Woodbank) 19:28 [5] 5.0 km (3:54 / km) +53m 3:42 / km
ahr:120 max:139 shoes: Adidas Adios 3

Optical HR fails in the heat again...

That felt like much further than 5k! 4th for most of the race, into 3rd with about 1k to go but couldn't shake him and he outsprinted me with 50m left; he wanted it more than me, didn't even put up a fight. Had I done, think I'd have still lost.
Tough one, mostly flat but with a short sharp hill twice of about 25m. Not surprised it doesn't get a massive attendance with so many flat ones in the surrounding area (and Lyme for those who like the hills). All on good terrain so good one for winter (unless icy).

Apple for breakfast not good that close to running.

Running - Trail race (Kettleshulme Fell Race) 39:37 [5] 8.4 km (4:43 / km) +239m 4:08 / km
ahr:145 max:165 shoes: X-talon 212 (blk/flro) - Nov17

Slightly shortened by about a mile due to some farmer putting sheep in the wrong place or something. Hot day as per at the moment.

With Robbie and the front group for about a k until it started going uphill, then dropped back to about 6th for the main hill up to Lyme Park. Fairly gentle climb, no hard terrain. Pulled back into 5th then 4th at the top of the steep bit, but miles behind 3rd. Bad route down through the spiky thistles as no-one to follow, but got a big gap behind so easy to hold on to the end.
Good race but not particularly interesting, some nice views from the top and the first part of the descent was nice.

You can get a pretty tough 5k from my doorstep.

Running - Road/Track race (SM #5 Rudyard Lake) 29:22 [5] 7.56 km (3:53 / km) +56m 3:45 / km
ahr:154 max:166 shoes: Adidas Adios 3

Long time since I've run fast for that long! First 3k pancake flat (3:42,45,48) bit gravelly which slowed it down though. Started with the front group but they accelerated after the first km and I couldn't.
Kept up a reasonable pace and so found the undulations hard work, not hilly enough for me to get back those who passed me.
Nice to be in the shade for most of the race and even have a breeze at times, wasn't struggling with the heat really just the pace.
Definitely the most dull of the series so far although by no means the worst race I've ever done! I think my worst position, outside the top 10 I reckon.

Running - Trail (MH Fell Training) 1:06:11 [3] 9.14 km (7:14 / km) +347m 6:05 / km
ahr:121 max:159 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 290 (grey)

Blister still painful but runnable-on. Recce of the new Forest 5 route which is two weeks today - tough climb at the start but then lots of nice downhill, some a bit technical. Should be a good one. Will be less than 5m too.

Note
(rest day)

Blister improving but still elected to have one more day off. Ate cake for dinner (literally). Also watched England win. Expected not to care either way but did actually feel a tiny bit happy at the end.

Note
(rest day)

Blister really sore! Hurts to walk.
