Orienteering race (Harvester A Relay Leg 7) 1:21:58 [5] 11.61 km (7:04 / km) +395m 6:02 / km

I have no idea how to use this website.

Not too much pressure since team in 8th place; both 7th and 9th miles away so just concentrated on not making any mistakes. Tried to go at the max speed I could whilst staying in full map contact - this worked really well but felt slow a lot of the time, especially in the circle.

No real issues until started to go from 22 to 16 (loop wrong way round) - noticed reasonably promptly but still lost c.1.5 mins.

Very lonely race - saw no one the whole way round the 14.2km!

Happy to beat Ben M and to be only 2 mins down on Ben Stevens. Will be interesting to see winsplits if they put it on.

Orienteering race (Rushall Woods) 35:42 [4] 4.8 km (7:26 / km) +75m 6:54 / km

Only entered Green as worried would be tired from Harvester - this was a good decision.

Again focussed on trying to be accurate rather than quick (although not much choice after getting up at 4am...); this worked well again. One mistake - #11, failed to see earthbank as it had a fallen tree exactly along it, which the control was hidden behind. Earthbank was pretty low as it was. But enough features to relocate and realise.

Managed to stay ahead of Phil despite giving him c.2 mins on that control.

Unsure about how much to do at interval session tomorrow as seem to keep not doing them after hard runs on sundays; and now the wednesday urbans are clashing with the second interval session. will see how it goes.
