Lovely run from top of Linlithgow to Beecraigs, Cockleroi and lots of exploring the MTB trails. Sleet and very windy but not so bad in the forest. No time for an Ochils run today which might've been as well with the weather!

Warm-up

Leg 2 with Andrea. My first race for 2 years and first as a vet. This went better than expected. Monsoon conditions for boring run in along road. Struggled on this due to complete lack of speedwork. May have to reconsider my no speedwork after 40 philosophy if I do another race. So delighted to finally get off the road that I enjoyed the hills I disliked so much last week. Bit low to control 2 but otherwise hit everything spot on. Very strong on West Lomond climb passing lots of teams then pathetically slow on descent (where I twisted ankle last week so cautious). Suffered disgrace of being passed by Dave and Pete but at least got away again on next climb. Passed more teams on climb of Whitecraigs then did bit better on last descent. Andrea thought we were well-matched but I think she was being kind. 1st lady vets team and 3rd overall. Only Ange and Jasmin faster than us on leg 2 so not too bad.

Cool down. Hard to do a proper cool down on steep, muddy hillside.

Legs feeling a bit sore so easy spin while watching athletics. Felt much better after this.

Ankle felt ok to try a short flat run. Need to watch achilles doesn't become a problem as usually happens after going over on my ankle. On spin bike for rest of time.
