Walking 3:40:00 [1] 6.71 mi (32:47 / mi) +1140m 21:28 / mi

Family hill walk - Ben Lui & Beinn Chleibh. Thought these hills might not be too busy compared to others on a blue sky bank holiday Saturday. The path by the stream up through the trees is a total bog-fest though we sussed early that the going was good in the trees themselves apart from at the very top. Ben Lui was a good workout, quite a steep bulk of a climb, with a nice wee ridge approaching the top including a couple of easy scrambles. Was worth the bog once up high. Such a stunning day, been lucky to get two crackers in the holiday weekend.

Thursday Jun 2 #

7 AM

Walking 4:30:00 [1] 9.68 mi (27:54 / mi) +1250m 19:54 / mi
ahr:97

Family hill walk from the Lawers Car Park up Beinn Ghlas, Ben Lawers, An Stuc, then returned by contouring to the Lawers/Ghlas col then back via the direct path through the next col. Fantastic weather with no wind and blue skies for the most part, though became a bit more overcast towards the end and started raining the second we got back to the car. Great route in the most part though the last half mile on the traverse back as on very steep slopes which were awkward for Tracey. Would have been better going back over Lawers. Ben Lawers was Munro #50 for Hanna.

Wednesday Jun 1 #

7 AM

Road Running 30:34 [3] 4.01 mi (7:37 / mi) +120m 6:58 / mi
ahr:137

Shorter run up Fisher S and back Fisher's Brae. Slightly brisker than normal.
11 AM

Note

Off to Perth with Hanna for Scottish Schools Orienteering. Hanna came 5th in S1 which was a good result, with tough opposition. No mistakes of note which was good, and only chunk of time loss was at #1 where she took her time (as instructed) to make sure she knew where she was, get orientated and get a plan. Nice family forest walk afterwards. Thanks to Paul H for coordinating the Linlithgow team.
