Road Running 18:20 [3] 2.23 mi (8:13 / mi) +40m 7:47 / mi
ahr:123

Top road run with Hanna. Set off steady and could tell Hanna was going well, and she picked up the effort on the way back, ending up missing her pb by only 6 seconds. Lots of hill walking good for the fitness obviously! Nice inversion with mist in the valleys.

Road Running 1:00:38 [3] 8.02 mi (7:34 / mi) +200m 7:01 / mi
ahr:130

Steady run over Airngarth, round farm road loop, back over Airngarth, down to Bo'ness then hone via Fishers Brae descent and Clark Avenue.

Family walk from Glenshee up Glas Maol and Creag Leacach on the way home. Another good walk and the weather held out fine. Had thought about a run when I got home but felt pretty tired so canned the idea. Great holiday.

Road Running 20:31 [2] 2.39 mi (8:35 / mi) +60m 7:58 / mi

Out and back run on the road with Hanna. Same route as Tuesday but a bit faster. Going well.

Trail Running 57:13 [4] 7.45 mi (7:41 / mi) +300m 6:50 / mi
ahr:138

Run up the Fungle to the junction below Carnferg, then down the land river track via Newmill to the road, then back. Ran fairly hard once on the climb, up to The Guard, then eased off. Descent was fantastic through the trees. Great run. Going to miss such good running from the door. Another sunny day too, what a week.

Went to Balfour with T & H for some orienteering training. Went round the Orange course from August 2018. Ran ahead on the controls so Hanna could do the navigating with Tracey keeping an eye out and me spying from behind a tree! She came unstuck on #4 where the forest ride she needed to follow wasn't obvious at all. Some of the controls were pretty challenging for her but good practice at taking and sighting a bearing through the woods. All good fun. Loads of flies every time I stopped. Using screenshots on phones so not quite so easy as a proper map but does the job.

The Cairnwell, Carn a'Gheoidh and Carn Aosda from the Glenshee car park. Very easy three Munros in lovely sunny weather. Very quiet on the out & back but busy on the last hill.

Did a flattish out & back run round the loch and out to the road just beyond Balfour and back. Fairly warm. Legs quite tired.

Walking 3:31:00 [1] 11.02 mi (19:09 / mi) +590m 16:25 / mi
ahr:91

Family hillwalk from Baddoch in Glen Clunie up An Socach. Climbed up via the east top then descended on a good track south from the col into the valley and back. Was misty right up to around 800m on the furst climb, so a brief inversion before it burnt off. Forgot the sun cream so was glad of the extra shade. Another good walk. Hanna going well.

Trail Running 1:06:06 [3] 7.71 mi (8:34 / mi) +440m 7:17 / mi
ahr:137

Run from the house along the loch, part way up the Fungle, then round and up Craigendinnie. Did an out and back onto the moor below Duchery Beg before heading back via the Fungle descent and the loch. Sunny run and ground it out. Stomach was a bit of an issue on the way back but got home just in time. Loving the hilly forest running.

Road Running 21:23 [2] 2.38 mi (8:59 / mi) +60m 8:20 / mi

Run with Hanna out & back on the Birsebeg road. Wasn't showing much signs of tiredness after yesterday and was keen to get out.

Trail Running 39:19 [3] 4.67 mi (8:25 / mi) +230m 7:18 / mi
ahr:133

Run by the loch then up the Fungle path to The Guard, left up to the col and back, then down the descent on the south side of Birsemore Hill. Nice steady run. A bit of mist higher up but very pleasant for running. Legs totally fine.

Orienteering 1:05:00 [1] 2.88 mi (22:34 / mi) +120m 19:59 / mi

Walked around an Orange course in Birsemore Woods (from March 2020) with H & T, with focus on Hanna doing the nav. Deeside Oranges are a lot tougher than Central belt ones! Nice though.

Walking 6:10:00 [1] 18.43 mi (20:05 / mi) +1260m 16:34 / mi
ahr:97

Decided to go for our long walk of the holidays given the sunny forecast. Headed for the 5 Munros circuit at Lochnagar which we knew would be at the limit of what Hanna could do, but the Munros come easy after Lochnagar, so it was the distance which was the main challenge. Conditions turned out perfect with a breeze higher up so only warm at the start and walking back along Loch Muick at the end. Was actually Hanna's second time up Lochnagar since I carried her up when 4 months old on a similar day. Her pace was good all day and only really felt tired/sore feet in the last couple of miles, which was to be expected so top effort. Out for 7 hours including stops which I'm sure is a fair bit quicker than I did it with my brother when I was 14! Cracking day, and heavy rucksack gave a good workout!
