Walking 1:14:00 [1] 3.71 mi (19:57 / mi) +100m 18:24 / mi

West Lothian golf course family walk. Likely last day the nicer snow hits will be there with rain due. Still plenty ice but fine in kahtoolas. Really enjoyed these walks over the holidays. Rarely see anyone and nice to see the sunrises.

Trail Running 44:19 [3] 5.5 mi (8:03 / mi) +150m 7:26 / mi

Decided against a Sunday rest day as I think this week coming is going to be a nightmare for ice so last chance for some nice snow to run in. More golf course loops. Another enjoyable outing. Ochils and Trossachs were shining golden in the sun, taunting me. Lucky Stirlingshire/Clacks people!

Walking 1:13:00 [1] 3.64 mi (20:03 / mi) +100m 18:29 / mi

Another family walk on the golf course. Conditions unchanged from previous day, but fine in kahtoolas. Did a bit more looping at the top on the nicer snow. Could see it was snowing in Edinburgh but fine for us.
9 AM

Road Running 16:52 [2] 2.01 mi (8:23 / mi) +10m 8:16 / mi

Run on ice free tarmac with Hanna in the industrial estate. 4 laps. Did a couple of strides to finish. Was quite brutally cold, - 4C, so Hanna did well to stick with it, and it got better as we warmed up a bit. Good to get some normal running in.
10 AM

Trail Running 57:23 [4] 7.23 mi (7:56 / mi) +230m 7:13 / mi

Headed back up to the Grange for a run. Started out on the golf course before heading down yo the farm toad, so could do the full field climb and cut backup onto the golf course for some more lopping, before heading back. Ran fairly hard at times with steady sections in between. We fairly burst by the golf course after the field climb. Underfoot conditions plus Kahtoolas made it a bit harder. Nice and quiet though. Sunny but still very cold in the shade, though sweating in the sunny climbs. Really enjoying running in new Scott trail/hill shoes, well impressed by the design and quality.

Walking 56:00 [1] 2.82 mi (19:52 / mi) +90m 18:04 / mi

Family walk round the golf course on Airngarth. Yesterday's melt followed by refreeze overnight meant the well walked/sledged areas were very icy, though there were still a few nicer areas of snow. Kahtoolas were required.
8 AM

Trail Running 44:50 [3] 5.35 mi (8:23 / mi) +110m 7:53 / mi

Decided sledging would've been too unpleasant/dangerous so headed out for a run round the golf course in kahtoolas instead.

Walking 51:07 [1] 2.63 mi (19:26 / mi) +90m 17:34 / mi

Family walk in the snow round West Lothian golf course. Got in another sledging session afterwards on the long hill (7 reps). Started snowing and was pretty heavy by the end, which slowed conditions down a bit. Tracey gave her cross country skis a spin which doesn't happen often.
10 AM

Trail Running 45:17 [3] 5.95 mi (7:37 / mi) +180m 6:57 / mi

New snow meant a run from the house was feasible so ran up Fisher's Brae direct, along the top road, via the golf course to the monument, then returned the same way. Nice enough underfoot with over an inch of new snow. Was sleeting and cloudy on the top. I fear it may be the last day of nice snow for a while. The run meant completed the Marcothon for 9th time out of 12 years. Wasn't particularly challenging until the last week but conditions just made it a bit more fun. Managed target of 200 miles for the month. Roll on a better 2021 hopefully.

Walking 54:00 [1] 2.69 mi (20:04 / mi) +90m 18:11 / mi

Another Pre-dawn family walk round West Lothian Golf Course. Clear and very cold. Nice sunrise. Followed by sledging. Used the biggest hill which was over 30m ascent per sledge so must've done over 1000ft of climbing whilst sledging. Fun hill reps! Snow still really good.
10 AM

Trail Running 52:26 [3] 6.46 mi (8:07 / mi) +170m 7:30 / mi

Another run mainly looping about the golf course in the snow. Fantastic and tiring in equal measure.

Walking 51:00 [1] 2.76 mi (18:29 / mi) +80m 16:57 / mi

Quite a lot of snow overnight meant we only just got up the hill out of Lovells Glen and we needed a hand to push from a neighbour. Main roads were OK ish. Went up to the Grange and did a lap of West Lothian Golf Course. Superb in the fresh snow. Then spent around 90 minutes sledging which was excellent fun.
1 PM

Trail Running 51:59 [3] 6.47 mi (8:02 / mi) +200m 7:20 / mi

Back up to the Grange for a run on the golf course, looping about. A bit busier but still plenty scope for avoiding people. Quite hard going with 2 to 3 inches of general snow cover. Ran fairly hard. Gloriously sunny but pretty chilly.

Walking 1:23:00 [1] 4.25 mi (19:32 / mi) +200m 17:02 / mi

Walk from the top of the Grange down the Grange path, up the field climb then further up thr field to the west. Found a trod cutting up to the golf course so headed to the monument, then found a route down to the Grange Path to the south. Headed back up the field then back to the car via part of the golf course. Very frozen though only icy on the road.
10 AM

Trail Running 51:14 [3] 6.64 mi (7:43 / mi) +230m 6:58 / mi

Headed back up to the top of the Grange for a run so could avoid the icy roads as much as possible. Headed down the Grange then did a couple of loops taking in the field climb, before heading home via the full Fishers Brae descent. T & H were out a shorter run so drove home. Really enjoyed the run, nice to cover some new sections. Lucky the fields are frozen as would be muddy otherwise.
