Orienteering 1:32:33 [3] 6.08 mi (15:13 / mi) +330m 13:02 / mi
Printed off Jase's training map of Sauchie Crags and did as much of the course as possible in 90 mins including the run in/out. Got as far as #15 then headed towards #18 but after a minor error on the way decided to bail out north and finished via #1 and #22. Really enjoyed the course, using the compass all the time and pleased to hit most of the controls fairly well. Helped that many still had kites. Having looked at gps, took interesting route around #3 & #4. Took a bearing from top of steep slope (where I knew where I was) into #3 and must've run fairly close past the boulder without knowing it was the right one (hard without a kite!) and onto the bigger ride to the south. Decided must be close so headed off on a rough west bearing to #4. Quite a fight through the woods and must've hit the #4 clearing almost spot on, but thinking I was further north, ran south to the next clearing on the edge of the woods. Got back on track at #5. Good outing/practice, particularly enjoyed the fast running through the woods from #11 to #12.
