Hill Running 1:34:58 [4] 8.98 mi (10:35 / mi) +970m 7:55 / mi

Dollar race route again. Added some extra climb and distance at the start when we missed the right turn onto the trod leading to the bridge. Was halfway up Bank Hill before I noticed, oops! Warm and sunny to start with but luckily it became overcast by Whitewisp. Ran with Kenny Richmond, pace brisk the whole way round. Vegetation has grown a lot in 3 weeks, particularly the climb up Saddle Hill.

Hill Running 1:30:29 [3] 8.31 mi (10:53 / mi) +830m 8:19 / mi

Run from Alva Glen CP. Ran with Andrea to the top of Wood Hill where I turned left to Ben Ever and she descended into Tilli Glen to do Leg 4. Rained on the way to Ben Ever. Went over Ben Cleuch & Andrew Gannel then descended to Tilli from the gate below Kingseat. Finished at the shops. Quite dry underfoot for the Ochils.

Bike 40:00 [3] 7.0 mi (5:43 / mi)

Thanks to scotrail signal failures and train cancellations, had to cycle up to Beecraigs for the WEE. Tough on the way up, magic fun on the way down!
12 PM

Road Running 37:56 [2] 5.06 mi (7:30 / mi) +50m 7:16 / mi

WoL, cyclepath, Craigleith Crescent, Ravelston Dykes and back by WoL. Nice and shaded for much of the way. Glad to keep cooler. Solo for a change.
6 PM

Orienteering race 46:51 [4] 4.25 mi (11:01 / mi) +100m 10:16 / mi

Beecraigs FVO WEE Green 5.4k
Unexpected warm up cycle to get there so sweating before I started! First taste of the undergrowth was exiting #1, trying to get through to the caravan park. #3 took it to a new level, nettles and thistles above head height! #4 to #8 was the nice section though binned 30s or so on #6 finding the south wooden bivvy first and having to hunt for the elusive other one. Should really have stuck more to paths for the next couple after #8 but took more direct routes through the jungle. Went to a bigger crag to the west of #9 and got confused a bit with the map. The control was on a smaller one which you couldn't really see due to the veg being higher than the crag. Really slow going (direct) to #10 and last bit in to and out of #11. Nice bit of running to #13 but that ended up a bit of a hunt with no clear clearing to speak of! Quite a physical and sweaty outing! Pleased enough to do relatively ok.

Road Running 15:36 [2] 2.13 mi (7:19 / mi) +40m 6:55 / mi

Run across to Arthurs Seat plus 6 strides
12 PM

Trail Running 16:56 [4] 2.9 mi (5:50 / mi) +100m 5:16 / mi

Planned to do a session of six Haggis Knowe loops (950m) with 75sec recoveries. OK for first three but blew up big style on the fourth one. Finished after five. Very hot so will blame the heat!

Times - 3.17, 3.14, 3.16, 3.34, 3.31

Last two felt just as hard as first three. Marco was 'taking it easy' but was ahead on the last two!

Roll on winter...

Road Running 20:37 [2] 2.67 mi (7:43 / mi) +40m 7:23 / mi

Ran back with Marco & Fionna via Calton Road, St A square and Dundas Street.
