canoeing/kayaking (Modrá Skála ) 2:13:00 [3] 9.0 km (14:47 / km)

on a whitewater kayak (with a waterproof cover) and yet I somehow still managed to hit very single rock in the river
9 PM

Hiking (Modrá Skála ) 1:00:00 [4] 2.4 km (25:00 / km) +426m 13:15 / km

Viki went on a hike to Mamut at 5pm but she still wasn't back when it got dark so at around 9:15 we went to search for her on the hike (since the hike is not really on a trail, and the way up is super steep and covered in loose shale, there was a lot that could have happened)

in the end she made it back into camp from downstream, she was 100% okay, she just went down the wrong spur and had no way of contacting us to let us know she was okay.

Note
(rest day)

was supposed to run, but i feel awful (last week's suspicious chocolate cravings finally came to fruition). this month it's seriously bad. like mentally and physically. very different than usual.

Running warm up/down (roads) 14:38 intensity: (26 @1) + (1:06 @2) + (6:52 @3) + (6:14 @4) 2.21 km (6:37 / km) +35m 6:08 / km
ahr:159 max:182 shoes: ASICS T6L0N

got chased by a dog and had to chase it away so it wouldn't follow me onto a large(ish) road, almost dove directly in front of two cars (one of which was a cop), and fueled by anger and disappointment

Walk warm up/down (drills) 11:09 [1] 0.73 km (15:14 / km)
ahr:134 max:161 shoes: ASICS T6L0N

Running hills (roads) 15:19 intensity: (5 @1) + (10 @2) + (5:36 @3) + (9:28 @4) 2.26 km (6:46 / km) +60m 5:59 / km
ahr:163 max:180 shoes: ASICS T6L0N

the hill was on a road embarrassingly not steep so I ran ut for 200m instead of 100m, but it was definitely still a lot easier than it should've been.

6x 200m uphill (10m climb) @ race pace, jog down

on the uphill intervals my watch said they were 180 or 190m long at the point I had measured out. On the downhills my watch said that same exact stretch was 220m long.

Running warm up/down (roads) 14:39 intensity: (21 @1) + (21 @2) + (11:25 @3) + (2:32 @4) 2.01 km (7:18 / km)
ahr:155 max:169 shoes: ASICS T6L0N

i always thought that I'd gladly get rid of my sense of smell, because there's just something so extremely debilitating about nasty odors, and smelling isn't that important to me.
but there's just something about when the air smells a certain way and reminds me of a place that's so comforting. tonight the air smelled like czech republic. i vividly remembered wandering through Prachovky, running on forest roads, and walking home from the grocery store.

walk/jog long (roads ew) 1:41:25 intensity: (12:54 @1) + (20:41 @2) + (59:49 @3) + (7:44 @4) + (17 @5) 13.41 km (7:34 / km) +154m 7:09 / km
ahr:143 max:185 shoes: ASICS T6L0N

R hip + knees not happy about pavement. brain not happy about everything else.
2 mental breakdowns made me stop twice and sit down on thw side of the road to calm down. felt like a failure, like I've just been getting worse at running. The longest I ran without walking was 3.5 km. on relatively flat. it was frustrating. i knew I could physically do it but mentally i was fully fighting myself.
