Rock climbing 1:14:47 [3]

high gravity day but I climbed this super super fun 10d
3 PM

Running (neighborhood w/ Oliver) 32:00 [2] 4.36 km (7:20 / km) +59m 6:52 / km

hot n humid and with Oliver, so I was a bit concerned about him towards the end, but he did good, I'm proud of him. Definitely won't be taking him on many long runs in the heat.

Walk warm up/down 11:48 [1] 0.69 km (17:09 / km)

some drills (teching kids how to do them) and walking around

Running intervals 20:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (10:00 @4) 3.04 km (6:35 / km)

1min on 1 min off fartlek, after 5 I had to tie oliver back up and give him water cuz it was too hot and humid for him, so I was about 10 seconds over the minute of rest, so I took 5 seconds off the sprint and the rest afterwards to make up for it. Ankle felt fine, I was on pavement so it wasn't that bad. But I defiinitely felt it when I was tryin to climb a rope. I'll see how it feels on climbing tomorrow and on orienteering on Sunday. I really hope it'll be okay. Like, it doesn't hurt enough for me to not be able to run and do stuff, but in certain angles it hurts enough that I'm a bit concerned about if I should be resting it more. I probably just pulled a muscle a bit so I'll just try to take it a bit easy on the ankle, stick to pavement for a lil bit, and hopefully it'll feel fine by next week.

Strength Training 25:16 [2]
(injured) (rest day)

lots of bench and a little bit of shoulders

ended up taking a rest day because my ankle hurts and I was so extremely tired and overwhelmed and everything so that's fun

Running intervals 7:36 [1] 0.52 km (14:44 / km)

8x 40m sprints on the track on every minute

really probably didn't need to log it but why not

Walk 17:50 [1] 1.34 km (13:20 / km) +12m 12:47 / km

walking for the rest of the time and flipping my watch around, accidentally cracked the screen so whoops.... I gotta get glue to glue down the screen on my backup watch and it should be fine
3 PM

Rock climbing 58:16 [2]
(injured)

takin it easy

I sprained my ankle when falling off of the beginning of a 12b becasue it was a running start and I missed and hit the edge of the wall and mat and rolled it and now it hurts so that's super fun... I want to give it enough rest for it to heal, but I don't wanna stop running and training?

Running warm up/down 11:24 [2] 1.39 km (8:13 / km) +6m 8:02 / km
ahr:81 max:86

Running hills 11:55 [4] 0.97 km (12:14 / km) +58m 9:26 / km

eeeeeeuuuuwwwgghhhhh

25-30 sec uphill hard, and then 1 min down (first one I did 30 sec down and realized it wasn't nearly enough rest)
Really had a hard time pushing. Did 8 hills and was completely done, this weather fluctuating between hot and cold is annoying and I'm just tired from the weekend. Probably should do my long day on Mondays for biking and then do hills Wednesday and speed Friday or something, but on the other hand it's nice to get hills done with early in the week.

Walk warm up/down 9:42 [1] 0.66 km (14:37 / km) +21m 12:37 / km
ahr:57 max:89

Rock climbing 1:57:16 [3]
ahr:82 max:126

for the most part, top roping

5.10c - flashed, warmup
5.12b - got to the top! well I hit the finish hold by tapping it/almost grabbing it but slipping, but for me that's 100% close enough!! really proud of this - I made it over halfway before falling a ton (probably cuz the hard part started halfway up)
5.11d - same one I did on Saturday, disappointed that I fell 3 times. It's an improvement, but I really thought I could've done better.
5.11b - got up maybe 1/3 of the way until I slipped and fell and it would've been so much work to get back on the wall, I figured I'd rather just go bouldering
bouldering the rest of the time, got really close to doing this V5 with a crazy technical start.

Strength Training 10:40 [3]
ahr:102 max:112

10 sets of 10s hangboarding on easiest grip, rest of the minute rest. Then I tried to do 2 boulders but I couldn't hold on to anything anymore.

my mom got a new car! It's massive and I don't want to ride in it for a while because it stinks with newness and the new car smell makes me extremely carsick, when I suggested that we should get Oliver wet and muddy and have him shake in the car to get rid of the newness my mom didn't like the idea for some reason :( but it's a nice car, and it's my mom's dream car, and now we can fit so much crap in the car- time to rack up the mileage again! (we had almost 200,000 miles in the 2016 passat before, so we better get going!)

Event: QOC Occoquan

10 AM

Orienteering (Occoquan - Red) 1:37:35 [3] *** 8.4 km (11:37 / km) +212m 10:19 / km
20c

Leg descriptions in the comments on the splits.

Kinda proud of this run, I mean I placed really well (probably because most of the fast people are on the Billygoat or ran Blue or Green), but really proud of my navigation. It felt a bit technical, but in a good, fun way. I probably should have run more, but tbh I'm tired from this week and especially from all the climbing.

Just wish the map didn't have so many unnecessary formlines, kinda annoying, but at least you think the hills are bigger than they are so it's a pleasant surprise when you don't have to climb as mucha s your feared.

It's also interesting seeing how Martins and I had practically identical route choices for the shorter-medium legs, but on the long ones we were different- and he is clearly a lot faster than me because he gained a lot of time on me on legs I didn't even lose time on, but still made at least 2 mistakes that were both bigger than mine. Definitely shows that I've got the navigation down pretty well, I just need to gain speed and endurance.
