Orienteering race (Orange Long) 2:08:03 [4] **** 7.38 km (17:21 / km)
shoes: Icebugs

I messed up REALLY bad on control #3. I took a bearing to it but I wasn't accurate enough, and I overshot it a lot. So, after about a half an hour trying to figure out where I am, and barely seeing any relatively useful features on the map, I realized that I can follow my bearing back to #2 by holding the compass the other way. So, once I did that I came to a trail, which I followed a bit, and I came to an intersection which showed me exactly where I was. Finally!

Orienteering (Orange-Middle distance) 1:11:47 [3] *** 5.3 km (13:33 / km)
shoes: Icebugs

I was doing fine, I just made idiotic routhe choices on 2 controls. If I made better route choices I would have 22 minutes less :'( (I calculated)

Running (XC Practice) 45:00 [5] * 3.25 mi (13:51 / mi)

I started meeting up with a cross country group about two weeks ago, and I'm loving it. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays we focus on long distance and on Thursdays we focus on speed. So, today, being a Tuesday, we focused on long distance. I've got to admit, it takes a lot of mental persuasion to keep running and to not stop. ;)
