SROC Tim Watkins trophy. Long race 16km mass start 39 controls. On Farleton Knott and Hutton Roof - serious limestone pavement which meant you had to be careful (thankfully not wet). My right hamstring was twinging from early on and never wanted to push it. In a leading pack of half a dozen, running slower but catching up with O and taking one of the score style gaffle in a better order. But the brought foot down hard about two thirds of way round and hamstring went. Ow. Walked back. Shame as I had got into the lead at the point it went. So frustrating that it has been niggling on and off since April when I first did it. Need to get it properly better and strengthened.

Easy run round Sunderland Bridge. Felt rubbish after not running for a few days, left foot aching and right hamstring niggling. Maybe should have just gone to wicker man and back.

NN training. O round the city centre to get 12 checkpoints in any order, all on bridges (or underpasses), have to cross each bridge when you get checkpoint and can’t cross one more than once. A fun challenge!

Sannox Horseshoe and Goatfell on Arran with Pippa. Great day out, plenty of fun scrambling over rocky ridges. Failed on the Witch’s Step though - too damp and my technique was left wanting in the thrutchy squeeze. Mist on the tops but only raining a couple of times.

Mountain bike with Pippa in the pissing rain from near Lamlash, through the woods on forest drives to Kilmory and back over the road (which was nice and quiet because it was closed to vehicles at the top for resurfacing). Pleasant ride despite the rain.
