NATO urban event, Cramlington. 1st on course 1. Felt like hard work! I don't really like urban events, but fancied a run out.

Bit of an epic. Working in London for a couple of days so thought I'd go for a run out. The plan was to run from Enfield down to Alexander Palace and back - should have been a steady 10 miles maybe. Going out was fine, but coming back I took a wrong turn after Ally Pally, and went off in completely the wrong direction, and truth be told got really quite lost. Didn't have a map, had just memorized it (or so I thought). Ended up having to consult maps in bus stops to figure out where I was and get back on track, so ended being out for longer than intended. Still it is all good training.

Down to the old race course, then two sets of 1/2/3/4/3/2/1min reps, with half recovery after rep, 5 mins between sets. Mostly about 3:30-3:35min/km pace. Feeling pretty good, not fading too much at the end - always a nice feeling when the reps start getting shorter and you can put a bit of extra effort in knowing it won't last too long.
