Orienteering race 32:29 [4] 6.66 km (4:53 / km) +183m 4:17 / km
shoes: VJ Supra

British Relays at Cragg Estate and Chesterhope Common. Did last leg with Peter Bray and Nic Barber, and finished 4th on men's premier. That is the best CLOK men's result ever (previous best was 5th in JK 2006 Bramham Park, Yorkshire) - brilliant. Peter had a storming run on first leg (with fresh legs not having raced yesterday) to bring us back a minute in the lead. Nic also had a great run, and only Hector came past (eventually, took a couple of goes I gather). Then I went out, Peter Hodkinson came past at number 5, flying along (also didn't run yesterday), then GG slowly gaining through the quarries and pulled away. Thought Aidan was close at one point, but wonder if he missed a bit in the quarry because then I couldn't see him behind me. Felt really tried after yesterday, no speed, but enough in the legs to keep in 4th.

British Long Distance Championships. 4th on M21E. Very pleased with that result. A proper classic elite course, tough area, physical in the heather, billberry, brashings, hills, and tricky rock detail (more than on the map). Felt like I wasn't moving fast, but I guess no-one really was. Passed Nick B before number 1, around Carsten 7, 8,9, and with Joe Taunton for a few controls out the far end, but otherwise on my own. Some scrappy controls, and lost at least 30s in the last couple, but I expect everyone was making little mistakes (and Hector had very early start, although didn't feel like it tracked up that much!).

Gentle run, just loosening up for the weekend. Couple of 2-3 min harder sections, but not full pace by any means. Legs still feel a little tired from Sunday/Monday running, but not bad.

Run out with Jim from Thwaite (top of Swaledale), over Lovely Seat (lovely!) to Hadraw, then back over Great Shunner Fell on the Pennine Way. Nice route. But feeling tired, probably from yesterday's run, and Jim was definitely on better form than last weekend, pulling away over Great Shunner Fell in particular.
