9 AM

Orienteering 43:25 [3] 3.33 km (13:03 / km) +175m 10:20 / km
shoes: Jalas Black O shoes

Hanging controls for GBR squad training on Achtemarack. Fantastic forest, clear underfoot, good rock / contour detail.

Orienteering 24:18 [3] 2.41 km (10:04 / km) +95m 8:24 / km
shoes: Jalas Black O shoes

Shadowing Zoe round control pick course at Achtemarack. Had to deal with grumpy resident who wasn't happy we'd put a control near their house (Canadian bloke was fine, just didn't want his dogs eating us; Scottish wife was most indignant...).

Orienteering 25:00 [3] 2.48 km (10:05 / km) +91m 8:31 / km
shoes: Jalas Black O shoes

Control collecting at Achtemarack. Felt very slight twinge in hamstring. Need to not do too much this week, as it obviously isn't back up to full strength yet.

Driving up to Inverness for squad training week.

Running 55:00 [3] 10.26 km (5:22 / km) +150m 5:00 / km
shoes: Inov-8 MudRoc 290 black

Steady run over to science site then with Pippa, round Maiden Castle fields, Houghall Woods back through Grey College. Glutes aching, probably from hills yesterday - not surprising as first effort mildly resembling intervals/hills since doing my hamstring.

Running 59:00 intensity: (49:00 @3) + (10:00 @4) 10.65 km (5:32 / km) +241m 4:59 / km
shoes: Inov-8 MudRoc 290 black

Steady run down Bent House Lane, through High and Low Shincliffe. Pleasant out, but very muddy everywhere. On the way back did running drills across the playing fields, then 8 * 45s up the post hill.

Running 59:00 [3] 9.5 km (6:13 / km) +221m 5:34 / km
shoes: Inov-8 MudRoc 290 black

Steady run with Pippa from Gribdale Gate, around Ayton Moor, over to Roseberry and back. Seemed more inviting than either CLOK run on Saltburn Beach, or Captain Cook's fell race. Windy in places, but just got back to car before it starting raining
