North East Harrier League cross country at Lambton Castle. Hilly and muddy. Slid on my bum at one point and struggled up the hills on second and third laps. Right hamstring aching near end. North East Harrier League Cross Country at Druridge Bay. 80th fastest time, but starting in slow pack and 31st over the line, out of 504. Pleased with that. Thought I'd be terrible after long run yesterday, and legs aching, but got into it. Horrible course, three loops of grassy fields, but really uneven in places (cows been on the fields) and then firm. Not enough mud!

Long run round the “Middleton-in-Teesdale 5 trigs” - a round devises by Stu Ferguson (write up in The Fellrunner earlier this year). A few too many miles of tarmac for my liking and some deep heather, but also some gloriousmoorland trods on short grassland. Calves feeling tight from the final road into MIT.

Hodgson Brothers Mountain Relay leg 2 with Tom Carter. Good running - took over in 44th, did 14th fastest leg time, and pulled us up to 22nd. Team finished 27th. Felt very hard work up the first track to the stream crossing, kept running all the way and each pushing the other on. Then walk up steep grass, plod on to Hign Street, then loved the rest. Wet and windy and misty in places but fun running, good lines, and took a bunch of teams.
