Compass Sport Cup Final - Helsington Barrows - Junior Women

To start, felt good physically but took ages to get focused on the map properly, just ran in the general direction - something to work on. Hit the control ok though. Decent to #2 although could've kept a better line if stayed further south. #3 was awful. Bearing was hugely off and lost contact completely, may as well have not had a map. Massive time loss (10+mins).
Good to #5 and running well. To #6 I managed to trip on the loose rocks, knees hit the ground hard but pushed on. Also went over ankle about 2 mins later, fantastic. Good navigation through #6-end although ankle felt weak and lost energy/motivation heading up the hill to #10. Got it back for the last bit.

Shame my points counted really, should've been so much better. Solid last place for SOC but nice we made the final and really good weekend.

QE Parkrun - New PB!!

Very happy with this! Going out with the mindset of a fairly gentle leg stretcher before tomorrow but felt really good after the first 2km. At the bottom of the hill got overtaken by all the newbies who didn't think a 1100m long hill might need a change of pace but had taken them all back within about 300m. Up the hill with Michael coaching Alison which was rather helpful and gave me someone to push against. Really pushed on the way down (sub 4:30s) then pushed to the end because I knew I was close to the PB.

Very very happy and sub 30 is definitely in sight! (About time really).
