Drills/Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Orienteering race 51:52 [5] 4.7 km (11:02 / km) +100m 9:58 / km
spiked:17/18c shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Junior Inter-Regional Champs - Relays - Sandscale Haws

Ran Leg 1 of the AdHoc, running for East Anglia.

Really liked this area and it's probably the best I've ever run on sand dunes. Only real mistake was leaving no 5 thinking I was at control 6. Luckily I hit the fence, realised what I'd done and could correct it very quickly (lost ~2mins). Stayed with Becky for a lot of it, leap frogging who was leading which helped push the speed.

Really pleased with the whole run and came back in 2nd. After a good run from my team mate it turns out we finished the second leg in 1st place making it very annoying that we had no third leg runner... (I was told there should've been an M21E running after the majority had finished but there's no one on the results so I have no idea who he was)

After having such a good run of course I had to go straight over my ankle just before the one to last control so had to pull up, hobble a bit before getting back into a jog for the last control. Ankle has swollen up and is still very painful. Seem to have completely whacked the ankle bone so will see how it goes over the next few days.

Event: JIRCs

Drills/Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Orienteering race 1:24:22 [4] 4.6 km (18:20 / km) +160m 15:37 / km
spiked:13/16c shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Junior Inter-Regional Champs - Individuals - Graythwaite (W16)

Awful run, really hated the woodland area around controls 2-5. Just so physical and my arms seem to have been ripped apart. First two were good. No 3 I completely blew, drifted too far east, hit an unmarked marsh and then just messed around for far too long not looking at the contours properly (lost ~13 mins). Promptly went and messed up the very next control, think I left 3 slightly disorientated and had to come back and relocate (lost ~7mins). 5-8 were good. 9 wasn't as big a mistake but drifted completely off and too far up the hill (lost ~5mins). The rest were all fine but seemed to hit a wall at 13 and took a while to get back into it.

Definitely should've beaten Abi and Megan's times without the mistakes (69mins). Seemed to be messing up the same controls as a lot of other people, just by a lot more...
