Perham Down - SCOA League - Green

Started off pretty well and then kinda died really... Messed up no. 4 as just couldn't get the ground to match up to the map, no idea why as it was pretty obvious once I'd got it-.- lost ~1min. Then my bearing was dodgy into 5 so ended up looping back again, lost another ~3mins and it was a horrible bit of wood too so that wasn't fun. A couple of other dodgy route choices and a lot of hesitation probably lost me another 4 mins. Plus my legs were dying from the last few days anyway so definitely should've been under the hour really.. Not great.

S & C 1:00:00 [1]

Last session and so much easier as it's only one game. I ended up doing 18.5 hours by the end! So I got rather annoyed by people complaining about being tired after their first and only hour..

Queen Elizabeth Parkrun - Course Best

Haven't done this Parkrun in a good few months and I could really feel how all the training has been helping as it all felt so much easier including the big hill :) Just need to work on the speed now.

Drills/Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Running 1:39:24 [3] 12.29 km (8:05 / km) +256m 7:19 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Looped two routes together to get a slightly longer one. Started a lot slower than usual and just tried to keep it steady. Had to slow right down fairly early on as my shoulder was hurting and needed to be stretched out - its done this before, I think its the way I move my arms whilst running - and then again for my knee which was rather annoying. This plus killer heat and feeling the last 4 days meant it was a lot slower than it should have been. Also, the last 4km are a bit mean as its just along the road, up the hill and across the Everlasting-Field-Of-Doom (it goes on forever and feels like you're going uphill whichever way you run it..) - Need to find some better routes really :)

Drills/Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Running 1:05:23 [3] 9.38 km (6:58 / km) +169m 6:24 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Did last weeks route backwards for a bit of variety, but it was so much tougher! The hills were mostly shorter but so steep. You don't really notice how steep they are when you're running down them :') Had some pretty fast sections and some very slow ones so not very consistent at all.. Overall I'd have definitely liked to have been faster and really need to do some hill work. But a good start to a hopefully pretty full week! Need a good two weeks of training now before the run up to the JK! :D
