S & C 1:00:00 [2]

Another load of skittles - walking will be fun tomorrow...

Note

From yesterday, I came 18th of 58 - which, considering there were people like David and Christine Currie up there, I'm pretty pleased:)

Telegraph Woods - SOC Summer Series - Light Green

Don't usually do these events but there's basically no other orienteering on near us all weekend and it was a decent area for a summer series as well :) Light green is the hardest course available which means just about everyone does it. 1:4000 map was a bit odd, map got taken away at the end again so can't analyse really but messed up 11 not concentrating enough and not planning an attack point so overshot it. Should've been faster too really, although was with Keiran and Jillian for most of it which kept me going and I beat them both - had a bit of a sprint at the finish as heard someone closing in behind me and presumed it was Keiran, turned out it was Rob so tried to chase him down.. didn't quite work really:') Actually really enjoyed it and want to do a few more of these, it's almost like sprint/middle training - especially with the 24 controls we had today!

Same as yesterday, back and upper thighs are killing me now:/

S & C 1:00:00 [3]

This was actually 4 hours of putting skittles back up and bowling balls back for a skittles tournament thing - and it's a hell of a lot harder than it sounds! Legs and back really ache from bending down and knee is rather sore from the constant twisting and it was just hard work-.- Obviously not logging it as four hours because it's not training but felt it deserved something as it was decent core/strength stuff really:')

Note
(rest day)

Didn't really have any time anyway due to a recording session, but wanted a full rest day as haven't had one since last Thursday I think? Anyway, my map arrived from Sunday! Pretty much as I remembered, but looking at it the planning really didn't help my psychology as it had the longer, basically just follow the ride legs in the middle where I usually lose motivation/slow down anyway- something I need to work on. Also, looking back some of my route choices could've been a bit better in places too :)

Running 1:06:58 [4] 9.45 km (7:05 / km) +170m 6:30 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Same route as last week but with a longer, tougher end going up through the woods and to Dean Lane End rather than straight back over the hill. This time includes about a million stiles and gates.. Did the 8km in 57:27 and pretty sure I could do it quicker. Took a while to get into it, legs felt pretty stiff for the first few km's.

Drills/Stretching warm up/down 5:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Running 17:56 [3] 2.85 km (6:18 / km) +75m 5:34 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Very short hill loop, didn't really have much time and wanted to shower and recover properly before band. Basically just checking out the distance and time of this loop to use as a long hill and recovery rep in the future. Ankles felt tight to begin with but were fine after I stretched them out a bit. Conditions weren't great and I was finding it harder to breathe properly than usual.

Garmin got the route rather dodgy, would've been a record for up the hill-.-
