Kentmere Fell Race 43rd
Really cool, mostly runnable route which is quite ideal for me. Made sure to admire the scenery along the way and not just get head down racing. Longest race I've done in forever so unsurprisingly hit the wall at 90mins in.
Didn't feel great for the entire thing, stomach was a bit off. Was waiting for the bad patch to pass over but it never really did. I think it was a lot hotter than I thought and I baked in the sun on the steep, sheltered climb at the beginning. A bit nicer once on top with a bit of a breeze and was grinding away not too badly all the way up the climb to High Street, going back and forth with another Dark Peak girl. But as soon as I turned for the descent, my legs just gave up and it was a bit of a dizzy wobble all the way back to the finish. Trying to ride that thin line between going faster so I could get it done sooner, and going slower so I didn't puke or let my legs collapse underneath me!!
