Run/fast hike up The Pinnacles with Jonny. Lots of big steps on the way up. Went down a different way on the way down which was more runnable but technical. Some nice sections of old railway and a huge waterfall.

Very stop-start run to Cathedral Cove and back via the lookout and rock hopping round the bays. Quite a steep run for a morning on what I thought would be a nice gentle tourist track!

Touristy run with Jonny in the Karangahake Gorge. Out to Dickey Flat campground including going through a mining tunnel. Then stop-start on the way back looking out all the windows.

Return walk to the carpark. Did the first hill before breakfast then stopped off at a big hot pool that the camp manager had told us about. Breakfast whilst lying in the pool then waddled our way back to the car.

Hiked the Tarawera trail into Hot Water Beach with Jonny and Selena. Had the place to ourselves and a beautiful calm evening, with loads of stars. Cooked eggs in the hot water which was fun!
