Absolutely lovely forest. Perfect for me really...lots of track running and sand dunes. Few patches of forest that almost reminded me of running in Woodhill :)

Started far too fast...probably not helped by the fact the first control was on a track junction (2nd time in the last 3 races!!), then a long fast track run to 3 (9mins of running). Looked at my watch at 3 and had been doing 4.40min/km up till then which is ridiculous for a forest race! :P Course was pretty easy, only 1 mistake at 18 (+1min) when I came into the green in the middle of 18 and 19, didn't know which way to turn and went left to 19 first.

Looking at splits I was leading until the 16th control (35mins into the course)...pretty pleased with that given that's about the length my training runs have been the past few weeks :)

The Steils - sprint course from 2012. Tried to push quite hard, probably a bit too hard for my navigation to keep up at times. Went through one lot of olive green to 7 (although the whole area has changed a bit from what was on the map). Had to stop completely at 12 as I hadn't planned my route to 13 and it was a tricky one that you couldn't carry on through the control in the general direction of the next one.
