In the marshy forest today which was a lot of fun and made the navigation more challenging. Tried to jog most of the course to see how badly the knee would react so I can make a decision about WOC. Got a bit tired so made silly mistakes to 6 and 7.

Caught a chairlift up to the start which was fun, looking down on everybody running below. Jogged the first 9 controls on the plateau then crawled my way down the ski slope to the finish. Knee very sore on the steep downhill.

Jogged the first control as it was all uphill. Took me 6.5mins with 90 metres of climb! Bit of jogging/walking until the 5th control, then walked the remainder. Bit more in the forest this time which made the navigation mildly trickier when walking.

Jogged the first control to practice race starts, then walking the rest. Trickier terrain today so was a bit more interesting than yesterday. Also meant I bet a lot more people ;) Knee hated the downhill to 7.

Sprint Scotland Race 1 - Hallglen East
Good result, average performance.
Really fun, tricky housing estate on a slope which made it even harder to read the map on the run. My navigation felt pretty scrappy but luckily there were no real traps, so running in the general direction of the control was okay (even though I hadn't made a plan for many of the legs). Spent most of the race being distracted by my knee and also foot decided to flare up as well.

Knee got really stiff in the gap between the races and am hobbling round the house this evening. Not looking good for Oringen, let alone getting any good training in before WOC :'( Really frustrating as I was finally beginning to feel like I'd got some form back after my foot injury and now cross-training isn't even an option.

Loop round Blackford. Such a sunny day :) Moving along nicely and able to push up the hills for the first time in ages. Knee has been a bit sore since Tuesday and wasn't very happy going downhill, particularly coming down from the top of Blackford.

Sprint/urban course round Oxgangs.
Good tempo session. One small mistake at 20 where the control circle was covering an impassable wall so I didn't see it till I got there. Pushing quite hard at the end to get under 30mins, which I think I did as I stopped my watch after I'd punched the finish. But splits say I did 30.31mins so I think the boxes are a bit out of sync.

MSR - The Edge, Sheffield
Ran 1st leg against the boys in a team with Kirstin, Beth and Rona.
Bit messy through the first 4 controls, mainly cos I was in overspeed trying to keep up with the boys. Then got quite spread out so navigating well after that. One miss on 14 when I went round the entire circle of forest before finding it. Feeling really slow by the end, still a bit sniffly from this cold I've had all week.
