Christmas Day run with Tim, Miri and Nicoline. From top of Wainui Hill along the ridge to Days Bay. Felt good for the first 20mins, then got really dizzy at the turnoff to Ferry Road and had to sit down a bit. Heart rate and breathing was going nuts. So had to slow up a bit after that.

Butchers Track, Cattle Ridge, Orongorongo Track with Dad. First half was terrible, went through alternating bouts of leg/stomach cramps. Then came right just before the turnoff to Browns Track. Legs started cramping up again on the flat from the swing-bridge to the carpark.

Scottish Night of Miles - Spiral Race
Handicap race starting in lane 8, then moving in a lane each lap. Everyone had ridiculous handicaps so I started 4.45mins after the first person and only caught up 1 person. Took it as more of a tempo as wanted to race the mile afterwards.

Scottish Night of Miles - Open Woman's Mile
Was planning to do the Allcomers Mile earlier in the night, but saw Coley beforehand and she convinced me to run the woman's mile. This was about 5mins after I'd finished the spiral race, so was not feeling in the best shape. Suffered through the first 2 laps, then completely faded. Pretty shoddy time, but good training all the same.

Spring Sprint Series #3 - Civic Centre (Lower Hutt)
Missed this event cos I was in Auckland, so ran it today instead. Felt rather unmotivated with noone else to race and tired legs from the week so hard to keep pushing. Was navigating by local knowledge rather than reading the map far too much as well. Time would have placed me 4th.

Run with Dad and Tim....well attempted to!! Gave dad a headstart but we never managed to catch him. Was only about 20 metres behind him at the gate halfway up the hill in Belmont Farm, but couldn't see anything cos the fog had closed in. Tim wanted to run down this other ridge that we'd seen last time we'd run up here, but ended up completely missing it and doing a 180 and ending up back at the same gate/fence junction without even realising it was the same place! Could just see this giant bush-covered hill looming in the distance, but couldn't work out what it was until the fog cleared a little bit and realised we were back at the carpark staring at Sweetacres Hill. Good fun though :)

Same session as 2 weeks ago - 12x400 (60 rest), aiming for 80sec laps. Much better than last time I did it, but the heat really got to me. Rests changed from jogging to walking after 8, and had to skip the 10th rep in order to finish the last 2.

Heaps of construction fences had been put up so the controls weren't put out...but could still get to all the control sites so ran around the course anyway. Actually ended up being fine though, as I only had to change my route for #1 and #17. Legs feeling pretty tired today.

Stole a sesh off Lizzie, cos it looked like fun ;) Was aiming for 84 second laps, but ended up doing 80s instead. Focusing on trying to get my times more consistent across the whole session. Only ranged by 3 seconds this time instead of 10 seconds like last week...and finished the entire sesh. So much happier than last week :)

Typical Wellington event with a fair bit of bush bashing, some road running and control in the wrong place which I never ended up finding. Started 10mins late so only had 50mins, but easily got round all the controls. Felt pretty tired up the hills after yesterdays efforts.

Super fun course with four loops around the school. Controls were super close together and lots of stairs and changes in direction so was hard to read ahead for the next control, let alone the next map. Finished in classic Ogang style sliding down a slide to the finish control! :)
