Pretty shaky on the first 2 controls, stopping far too early. But got into it after that, although a lot of walking to read the map. Really loved the 2 controls in the white forest!!

Ohakune Old Coach Road out and back with Jonny.

Had planned to run to Tama Lakes but it was blowing an absolute gale and wind chill was freezing so we opted for the low level forest option. Felt pretty zoomy for the first 5km after all our slow mountain missions. But leggies fell to pieces on the return. Will be glad for some rest at home the next week.

Up Pirongia with Jonny

Not sure this really counts as a run. Ran for the first 45mins to Ruapane Trig and the last 20mins back to the car. The rest was hauling ourselves up and down a very rugged tramping track, holding on by the tree roots. I hit the wall massively, with all the long runs and lack of sleep from the past few days catching up to me!!

Run/fast hike up The Pinnacles with Jonny. Lots of big steps on the way up. Went down a different way on the way down which was more runnable but technical. Some nice sections of old railway and a huge waterfall.

Very stop-start run to Cathedral Cove and back via the lookout and rock hopping round the bays. Quite a steep run for a morning on what I thought would be a nice gentle tourist track!

Too wet to do the tramp in the Ruahines that we had planned, so opted for Te Mata Peak instead.
Eventually made it across to the Redwoods, after discovering that they've cut down my favourite bit of forest. Then ran the red circuit route all the way round the bottom and up the steepest way to the summit. Legs suffering a lot on the downhill.

An absolutely glorious day for it. Not a breath of wind, even at 1500m at the top of Mt Hector. Fast hiked up then ran/hobbled back down again.
