Day 2
Bad
Running really well until #7 where I just missed it due to v high bracken (by 5m or less) and ran around about 20m above it up(further up the spur), down and all around.... 6mins lost, the woes of the early start.
Mind went out of the race and the rest was fine other than #10 where I saw the control, looked at it from a distance - "no thats not my control, my control is further left and on a boulder..." 3/4mins later I realised maybe it was my control, damn, idiot.
Fine around the rest and running/orienteering v well other than on those two!

Note

Been a bit rubbish with updating at the moment - last few weeks have been in Sweden with seriously poor WiFi and then up north (no signal or WiFi!), relearning how to orienteer and doing some good training with the GB squad!!

Very excited to say that in a few hours I'm running for Scotland in the Celtic Games 3,000m. Not seen a track in about 5 week's so will definitely be interesting to see...... ;)

GOOD LUCK TO THE TEAM GB FOR WOC

Running race 9:03 [5] 3.0 km (3:01 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adizero Cadence 2 -2014

Celtic Games 3,000m

Tacitcal, tactical, tactical!!

First lap, 90s, fourth lap, 90s.... Very very very slow around the first half of the course, nobody wanting to take the pace so me and the other Scot took it on slowly into the seriously strong wind and rain (we managed to get the worst conditions of the day by a long way!)

The second half was again pretty slow until about 600m to go where (everyone was in a little pack at this point) the Irish boy (8:37pb) and I absolutely kicked seriously fast. Did about a 1:31 for the last 600m and finished the race with the Irish guy just managing to open up a gap to get the win :(

Pleased because I think I've done as well in the race as I could have done considering I haven't seen a track in the last 5 or so weeks and a big lack of intervals!! Though it did feel weird going for the position rather than the time!!

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunarglide 5

Really good warm up and down - feeling really fresh actually! Bring on the six day! ;)
