Orienteering race 32:27 [5] *** 6.84 km (4:45 / km) +210m 4:07 / km
spiked:19/21c shoes: inov8 x-talon 212

This... This is more like it!!! :D

Men's Premier Relay - Me, Hector and Murray!!!

Started well, a little to far to the east and actually went to both the other two gaffles' controls... (I had the long gaffle! :'( ) Luckily they were not too far away... 20-30s lost? Good to #2, a little annoyed :/ good to #3, very poor to #4. Lost a minute, apparently most on my gaffle did. I had a plan but just got slightly dragged off even though I knew I was going wrong! :( nailed #5, bursting away from Adam Potter into and around the far side of the map (well till he had an incredibly shorter gaffle! :( like 100m shorter!?) but nailed most of the intricate contours, gaining on the leaders (well, not Peter Bray) :P battle with Rosco to #12, physical uphill leg :D Adam was slow to #13 and I nailed my route so I almost caught him, he went slightly wrong to the spec. So I was pretty much there at the same time! Bossed the last quarter going from 5th to 2nd!! :D destroyed Adam ;)

Hector and Murray nailed their runs and we are the British Open Relay Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D so pleased!! Decided I love 1st leg ;) absolutely exhausted now though :P.... Away D of E gold for the next 3 days walking as a recovery ;)

Orienteering race 1:08:25 [5] ***** 8.7 km (7:52 / km) +200m 7:03 / km
spiked:15/22c shoes: inov8 x-talon 212

Well then..... Where to start... That wasn't the best :/

#1, ok... A bit slow, cautious, not too bad. #2 lost a minute faffing on a crag to low (50m south of the control). #3 good, banana-d into it though. #4 I was leading a crew of my followers... (5 guys?) for some stupid reason I felt under pressure to glide through the control... Successfully did that but unfortunately I glid out 90 degrees in the wrong direction... (note: never follow me, I wouldn't) then got confused at the next junction, nothing made sense! :( continued with me initial plan of then after hitting the path, ploughing through the green trying to find some non-existant ride hitting the lower path! Seemed to make sense so bombed off down the path... Unfortunately all the earlier confusion meant the path wasn't the one I wanted - it was a parallel one a few hundred metres South! :(:( there was also a massive 10m cliff between the two paths so that made it hard to switch once I realised my mistake :( 3mins lost. Further minute and a half to #6, the cliffs were wierd and unexpected. 7,8 good. #9... Horrendous. Missed it initially, hit somewhere high, went lower, lost of cliffs, lots of boulders, not concentrating, very lost :( needed a clear plan to this one :/ 7mins lost. Incredibly demoralised to #10, Tom Lines (started 4 mins behind me) caught up leading his own train, spurred me on... Kinda... Good to #11, caught Ross (by 4mins) at #12 (however I had passed him at #7 so still disappointed with that) and we just cruised the last bit, both pretty upset :( caught Larry (he was part of my initial train to #4) at #19... Good finishing sprint for the last few controls................. Pretty gutted with the run. :(

At least I won the run in. Solid 2s as well!..........

Running intervals (EdinburghAC track sesh) 12:27 [4] 4.22 km (2:57 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunarglide 4

Longer... Slower session today... Soon decided to use my flats :O :P

Basically an easy session before BOC - 10 x 400m (slow)

Times: 76,76,76,76,74,75,76,74,66 ;)

Were originally going to keep the pace the same throughout the session but couldn't resist a sprint off with Cameron ;)... He absolutely destroyed me :L

Cycling 26:59 [3] 11.2 km (24.9 kph) +150m

Cycle to the physio for the monthly check up - all good! (well except for tight quads... To be expected after all the climb of the last weekend!) Fast on the way there... Low intensity back :) :P

Also I achieved a good sleep night which is good! ;) my throat and cold are "meh" at the moment... Let's hope that doesn't develop into a "oh" or an "aww.....:(" :P
7 PM

Running intervals (EdinburghAC track sesh) 9:01 [4] 3.32 km (2:43 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunarlon

First track session in a while!! Well.... A week and 2 days ;)...
(It felt like a while ok? :P)

It was certainly enough time for me to revert to my former "Bambi on ice" running style and I felt pretty rough!

(600m - 30s break - 200m - lap walk rec.) x4 :)

Times: 1:45, 29, 1:45, 30, 1:47, 29, 1:42, 29

My pacing was.... Atrocious... :P but yea I completed it so that is good! ;)

(also didn't help that I left my spikes in Pitrieve so was reduced to flats to run in..... Idiot -.-)

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

Warm up and down... Still feeling pretty "meh" which is a good sign I suppose! Not got worse ;D
