INTrepid weekend - day 2 - 1st - Blue

Probably should have run Brown but after yesterday hmm... :P

Aim for the day - consistency, concentration and exits

Nice course making good use of the small area :) nailed pretty much each leg... Exiting well also :) slipped up at #2 where I ran to the wrong group of trees... Lost 30s? Mistake #12 where my bearing was off slightly... Lost 15s :) nailed the rest... All felt good.

Second place (when I left) was Sam G... Beat him by 8 minutes so not bad at all! ;)... The combination of a steady (not too fast) running pace and concentration around the control definitely helped :):):)

Scottish Schools XC Championships - 1st :D

- Unofficially selected to run for Scotland in the international in Bolton in two weeks time... Will be official soon enough :P

Bit of a depleted field for the Scottish schools champs today but that's because Josh, Ben and Connor (all ruinning British inter-counties) can and will all be selected to run for Scotland even though they didn't run the selection - me... I'm not so sure :P

Really good solid race - first lap (1km with no hills) was pretty easy with nobody wanting to take the front due to the wind... They all just packed in behind me and left me to take it all -.-

Start of the second lap I basically started walking to try get someone else to take the wind... Everyone slowed down with me and left me too it -.- so me and Cameron (from Stirling) and some other guy injected some speed and eventually ditched the people clinging on to us... Cameron almost got away from me after kicking but I reeled him back in dropping the other guy :)

Third lap Cameron almost left me again... But I managed to stay with him (just!) and we fought through the wind... We were going pretty well and I decided to try ditch him - my coach, Eric, was shouting at me up the hill and it meant I was inspired up the hill getting a short but crucial lead on Cameron! This gap slowly got bigger and ended up fairly comfortable :D

Actually felt like I had quite a lot of energy at the end... Before I wasn't feeling good but after I definitely was :):):)

Fast slow 200's x 12 :) (2minute loop of one fast 200 + one slow 200 = 1) :P

Just easy and slow today... - Scottish schools XC champs on Saturday... I can't wait!! :D

Times for fast 200's all averaged at about 30/31 seconds :)

Feeling pretty meh today............ Really should have got more sleep yesterday :/:/:/

Edinburgh schools league relay - 3rd leg

started in 3rd but quickly caught up 2nd... Cameron's team won but they started a good 200m ahead of me and I had nothing much to run for so that is why the pace is slower.....

Boffee had a rubbish team, finished miles behind but best my time by 7s!! :( :P he had more to run for though, right in the mix with everyone... I'll have him next time ;)

4 sets of (1 x 500m and 1 x 300m) - 5 minute break between the sets :)

Times: 1:19, 46, 1:19, 44, 1:19, 45, 1:21, 43

Felt pretty good and was flying tonight!! Time slowed for the last 500m because the really slow and really large group of unfit 40+ year olds took the track by storm with their blistering pace of 3 minutes for a lap...... -.- pretty annoying as there is about 40 of them spanning over 100m and 5 lanes....!!!! - Rant over.

Good fun and felt pretty good :) easily cruising at the front of the group - bring on the Scottish schools XC champs this weekend! ;)
